Hi all!
We fly out 2moz morning, just wondering if anyones been previously over thanksgiving period, is it really busy this time of year?
Thanks
I was there over Memorial Day weekend this year and it was very busy, however the weather was a bit warmer than I guess it would be at this time of year.
You may want to think about your meals in advance as the restaurants all got very busy, might be good to make advance reservations.

Maywe have radically different ideals of what 'nice reasonable weather' is.
We will never go in the summer ever again...unless it's the only time we can go in which case of course we will.
Mind, I prefer July, feels like proper summer, ahh, the feeling of your eyeballs melting in the afternoon, can't beat it:DThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
MarchHi all!

Overall it's pretty slow (compared to a lot of other holidays)...since it's a big family time for the US not so many people go to Vegas as other holidays...for a lot of US families Thanksgiving is a bigger family holiday than Christmas with loads getting together for a big meal.
However, restaurants are busy on Thanksgiving because those who are in town (and a lot of locals I think) hit the restaurants instead of having a meal at home...we made reservations for our Thanksgiving dinner well in advance the year we went...if you want to go to a restaurant that doesn't take reservations try to go early or be prepared for quite a queue.
Remember that the day after will be the biggest shopping day of the year - if you can get a hold of a local paper on Wednesday or possibly Thursday you will see all the ads for the day after Thanksgiving bargains. It's absolutely mad at some stores (my husband said that Fry's Electronics looked like it was being looted as he walked up while I spent ages trying to find a parking space - we left when we realised the queue was maybe 150 people long - with a guy in a Santa suit holding a huge bunch of balloons to mark the end for newcomers- and all we wanted was a DVD).Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
MarchWhats wrong with June??

Exactly.
We don't do hot well...not at all...others are more suited to that sort of climate but we prefer nice cool, bright, sunny days to baking in our skin.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Cheers guys i kinda thought it wasa big family holiday but wasnt too sure what vegas would be like!
We dont arrive til mid afternoon thursday so prob wont be up to much on actual thanksgiving with the 11 hours travelling! Friday is gonna be our first real day so maybe sounds like we may do a little shopping if they have decent sales on!
I was thinking about pre booking restraunts but thought yo would only need to do that for the expensive ones??
Thanks.0 -

.
If a restaurant takes reservations (not all do) it's worth making one...some you can even do online (for free).

At least worth considering...only the expensive ones take deposits, so it can't hurt to at least get something in place...beats waiting for ages, though a lot of restaurants in casinos will give you a buzzer that will go off when your table is ready - so you won't be stuck standing in an actual queue at some.
We didn't eat at a buffet for Thanksgiving and didn't pass by any on our way to dinner...but my understanding is that they are absolutely heaving - most put on a 'traditional' Thanksgiving meal.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
