AprilOne of the guys I work with used a $20 at Ceasers for a 5 nights stay over the weekend and went from a standar room to a room in the Augstus tower with a jacuzzi and all sorts I will try and find the photos
we got upgraded to the Augstus tower for 5 nights for $20 tip. only downside was it was a smoking room , but it didn't have any bad tobacco smells or anything so was great. no real strip view , but hell you cannot expect the moon on a stick for what it cost for that room ( this was back in the heady days of $2-£1 exchange rate as well  )
given we only payed $100 for the room on the week nights ($200 for the friday) ,and the Augstus tower was simply wonderful , our Caeasars stay is the level which all future stays will have to be judged by.Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
MarchFerf1223, as we have booked Bally's North Tower (hotdeal- not a bad price and didn't know if I wanted to bother with $20 tip thing), will there be a good view like of the fountains or do I need to ask/tip for it?
Hi - you will probably not get any view of the fountains from the North Tower rooms, I'm afraid.
The better views are from the south tower...the best view we have ever had from the north tower was this (room 24011 ):
We've had a nice mountain/pool view before - saw a great lightining storm over the mountains - that was cool...but in general the views from the north tower are not great.
We did have a room in the south tower once with the Eiffel Tower *right there* and could see maybe 2/3 of the fountains if you looked to the right...stunning, but the room was quite worn.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
MarchThats good to know... ive never been to vegas so i guess as its not one of the 'big' names you alwasy hear about when you think vegas and gambling i was assuming it was a lesser hotel.
Things are looking up... 3 days to go
Seems like a decent success rate there:

JulyREALLY?!
omg. How useful.
I never noticed before - I will look when we pick up our car on 20th October!
Dont know if anyone else has already mentioned this to you ferf, BUT regarding which side of the car the petrol cap is on - If you look at the picture of the petrol pump on your dash - the side the nozzel is on is the side the cap is on the car that you are in. Does that make sense?
I had an email about that very thing recently and it was something that I never knew. So - next time you're not sure - have a look at the picture on your dash - that will confirm it for you.
Sorry if someone else has already posted - Ive not had chance to read through all posts.

July
I am putting this on my xmas list as we speak - its a bit more pricey than last year (got it for £7 - £8) but still worth it for Ellis Island, Orleans and Gold Coast I feel. Plus it will give me an incentive to actually go to Vegas - not that I need an excuse BUT who knows what flight prices will be like for June/July next year... GULP!!!!

MarchMirage deal from travelzoo...somewhat limited dates, but prices seem pretty good (though I've not studied Mirage deals much before).

. I like and as long as we are in Vegas for a week or more we make a trip to LV Hilton, also the monorail is one of the few where the station is in a convient place for the casino and not a 15 minute walk from where you want to be. I would be very grateful if you managed to take some pics of the rooms and let me put them on my blog
simon
We also stay often in the Hilton. Easy access now with the monorail and one of the hotels that have free internet access via the coffee shop ... and their free power points. We always used to blag a cheap deal by doing one of the Trek packages ...won't be doing that again now I suppose..... though someone posted that while the experience was going, Quarks was remaining.
LPGA usually have a tournament at the adjoining golf course each year0 -

Well, how much time should we allocate to spend looking out of the window? Five-six minutes enough? Thanks for posting the pics. FOUR days to go!!0
