OctoberI don't think I would like to be in a smoking room either and would prefer a non smoking without a view than one with a view that stank like an ashtray.
We've only been to Vegas once and were fortunate enough to have a strip view in the I P and the Tropicana....we didn't get one at the Flamingo but I wasn't bothered as it would have been much the same as the IP one and we did get a nice view of the flamingo gardens.
I'm going to split next years holiday between 2 hotels....not sure which 2 yet ....will try the 20$ trick and hope for the best:hello: LORRAINE :hello:0 -
SeptemberCame across this site which I don't remember seeing on here. A must for all poker players. Confirms all the poker tournaments within each casino, the start time, payout %age and most importantly to me, the buy in fee.
Might help if you're looking for some of the cheaper tournaments, especially for newbies to poker. The strip ones range from $30 at Luxor Sat/Sun to the $1060 at Bellagio on Fri/Sat:shocked:

The one thing is though - sometimes the 'smoking' rooms are actually just fine (not smelly at all - I'm a smoker, hubby is not, I don't smoke in the room and he hates the smell)...we've also had 'non-smoking' rooms where someone HAS recently smoked in them (Rio comes to mind)...so we've had smellier non-smoking rooms than smoking rooms on occasion!Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
MarchEdited as my husband is crazy and the offer wasn't per day freeplay it was per stay freeplay.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0

AprilI can't believe our trip is nearly upon us! After almost a year in the planning and booking stages. Very happy. Not thrilled that the flight time has been as scheduled or longer this week but it is what it is.
This will be a very different trip for us with the in-laws...really looking forward to it and think it will be good fun. We're seeing so many more shows than a normal trip - Bette Midler, Mystere and Love are booked - Jubilee, Lance Burton and Mac King to be booked after we arrive. That plus the Grand Canyon trip means a lot more planning has gone into the trip than normal. We've actually put together a rough itinerary so we can make sure that we do everything the in-laws want to do - some new things for us will be Shark Reef (I expect to be disappointed as I've been to the Cincinnati Aquarium which I am sure is much nicer, but will still be interesting) and NASCAR cafe...Envy Steakhouse too (with $75 restaurant.com voucher, of course). Also going to do the Strat tower which we haven't done in several years and I really want to ride X-Scream - may do so even if no one else will (my husband and MIL definately won't - so it will be my FIL or no one).
Oh, and we did book that Mystery Adventures tour - so will report back on how it is - we're booked for a week tomorrow and it's on the itinerary as 'Mystery Surprise'.
Thanks very much to everyone for all your advice and tips - I can think of so many things we've either found or found good deals on because of things folks here have posted - such a great thread!
have a great time ferf .

Ferf if it's a show trip definitely add Donny and Marie at the Flamingo. It's a proper Vegas show and not at all cheesy. My comment after seeing it was "If the Donny and Marie TV show in the 80s had been like this-I'd have watched it instead of cringing and changing channel"I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0
