Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0

Unfortunately we only have 4 nights due to other commitments (family), but NEXT time will be longer (haven't even been yet and planning ahead).0

MayIMHO there are not really any stonking views to be had from most of the rooms at Caesars. All the towers are at right angles to the strip. there are a few fountain view rooms in the Augustus tower, but that's about it. They are building like mad there at the moment, another 1,000 rooms in the Octavia tower, and breaking ground for a convention centre and more rooms on top next to Industrial Road. They also have planning permission to knock down that outdoor theatre and the courtyard in front of it, for, wait for it, another tower!! :eek:The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0

May... the novelty does wear off though
I had to read that twice, I couldn't believe I actually saw those words in print. The best sight at the end of an evening is lying in bed looking at all the lights, and first thing in the morning seeing all the concrete, just to remind you as soon as you open your eyes that you are in Vegas!!!The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. I thought about this last night and I also take back the novelty wearing off comment - BUT I do think that over time we're less disappointed if we don't have much of a view and our other preferences (bed size, non-smoking) win out over a view if a choice has to be made. The other thing for us is availability - we've had a chance at a room with a nice view and passed it up because it wasn't immediately available. After that flight, I just want to get to the room and have a shower and hit the casino - can't bear the thought of hanging around for an hour or more to wait for a particular room.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
MarchI can't believe our trip is nearly upon us! After almost a year in the planning and booking stages. Very happy. Not thrilled that the flight time has been as scheduled or longer this week but it is what it is.
This will be a very different trip for us with the in-laws...really looking forward to it and think it will be good fun. We're seeing so many more shows than a normal trip - Bette Midler, Mystere and Love are booked - Jubilee, Lance Burton and Mac King to be booked after we arrive. That plus the Grand Canyon trip means a lot more planning has gone into the trip than normal. We've actually put together a rough itinerary so we can make sure that we do everything the in-laws want to do - some new things for us will be Shark Reef (I expect to be disappointed as I've been to the Cincinnati Aquarium which I am sure is much nicer, but will still be interesting) and NASCAR cafe...Envy Steakhouse too (with $75 restaurant.com voucher, of course). Also going to do the Strat tower which we haven't done in several years and I really want to ride X-Scream - may do so even if no one else will (my husband and MIL definately won't - so it will be my FIL or no one).
Oh, and we did book that Mystery Adventures tour - so will report back on how it is - we're booked for a week tomorrow and it's on the itinerary as 'Mystery Surprise'.
Thanks very much to everyone for all your advice and tips - I can think of so many things we've either found or found good deals on because of things folks here have posted - such a great thread!Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

I am actually with you here, I have lost count of the number of trips I have been to LV and I have to be honest depending on the hotel I prefer an non strip view, MGM Grand I prefer a high floor facing south and Mirage the view is better looking over the Pool and Wynn the golf course. I ma not fussed about bed preference but am about smoking I would give up a window to avoid being in a smoking room. I do like to have a Strip view in some places and have even paid extra for this at Bellagio.
