only had a few hours sleep after the flight, which was delayed (boo). was all ready to go to sleep when i got here, but got the vegas buzz so stayed up to have a nose around the hotel. Still when i got back to my room and started to make some calls for work, i ran out of energy and had to sleep.

Unfortunalty i only got a few hours nap so im back up posting here :p

I wont post all the details until im safely back in the UK so i dont tempt fait but needless to say im $20 shorter and my room is llloooovveeeelllyyy :D

And whats with their TV... i mean, they have an advert break, then come back to the program only to show the credits... and i thought adverts on SKY1 were bad, lol!

Just gonna mooch around for a few hours, find some food and then do some work (boo) but then its casino time....

So..if im going to New York in December 08..do I need to do this or use the onboard Visa Waiver forms?

Also, once I fill this in do I then have to revisit the update section everytime I plan a new trip to USA?

    Wayne.

it is voluntary until january 09 , . you will need to change your flight and hotel information for each trip .

    remember your ref number

Hi guys, I need a bit more help on the car hire, as not booked one is Vegas or abroad before. I'm a bit nervous at getting this wrong more than I am about driving on the other side of the road! :rotfl:

I'm booking a car from 11th Nov to 14th Nov and have 3 options (used travel supermarket to search), but I want to ensure I have the right insurances and I'm not sure what I'm looking for. I know a couple of you have used these companies before. Would I be covered? Is it the collision damage waiver that means I'm insured?

CarHire 3000 £42. Doesn't say much on their website.

Netflights.com £38 - This is what the site says
Fully Inclusive including: Local & State Taxes, Homeland Security Fees, Customer Facility Charges, Supplemental Liability Ins., Airport Surcharge, Uninsured Motorist Protection, Unlimited Mileage, Loss Damage Waiver.

    Dollar £54 - again the text on their site;
YOUR RENTAL INCLUDES - Unlimited mileage. LDW (Loss Damage Waiver). SLI (Supplemental Liability Insurance). UMP (Uninsured / Underinsured Motorist Protection). Taxes & fees. CFC (Customer Facility Charge) and HSF (Homeland Security Fee).

    Appreciate the help :)

We have used Netflights several times. It has always been a Dollar car, and the insurances are everything you need. We are members of Dollar Express which helps at the airport because you just check in for your car downstairs where there is less of a queue.

Well the information is all there. If you had of read it you wouldn't have felt the need to post bad information and panic everyone.

That's what the guide is for.

131 pages in, I never thought to go back to the first page again. It just never crossed my mind. I appologise profoundly for not being perfect.

The implementation date for ESTA is Jan 12 2009 so Xmas trips to Vegas are OK. I will wait till I get my new passport next year before I register.

you can call up Carhire3000 if you need any specific questions answering. i have used them before and they promise "no nasty surprises" . i prefer having a uk call center on hand if the price is about the same. all my Carhire 3000 rentals have had everything you need included in the up front price ( except fuel)

that said have used netflights for vegas car hire and had zero problems .

just double check your LDW or CDW has zero excess, cause thats how european car hire companys sting you . they will sell you a reduction policy, however i have yet to hire a car in USA were there was any excess.

you will most likely not have fuel included in any of the above . so factor in having to pay for that when you arrive. you can decline personal insurance cover at the desk if you have adquate travel insurance

I guess the Esta update your details page will change sometime in January then

At the moment you can fill in your flight no/airline and hotel details but it doesnt ask for any travel dates.

Thanks Pebbles. Have you ever had issue with requesting sat nav and there not being one available? I need GPS or it'll be a nightmare. I have a Garmin myself for use here and it makes driving so stress free.
