I hate those plastic headset things they give you to watch and listen with, and so would like to use my own - do I need a certain type of jack plug and will any usual type headphones fit any of the onboard entertainment systems.

3.5mm jack plugs will work fine, I used the one from my MP3 player as it has decent noise cancelling earphones.

  • dont know if this has been posted but maybe useful after the bit of blurb on the previous page or 2 about satnavs from virgins website:
Book USA car hire before 31st Oct 08 for travel up to 31st Dec 09 and get satellite navigation hire for FREE for the duration of your rental! Just select and pay for online the car with the sat nav option, at airport locations. Don't forget you will also get double miles (2 miles per £1) on your booking and get a further 1000 Flying Club miles when you swipe your card at the Dollar desk on arrival.

That is an awesome deal. Really really something special.

Thing is it expires today. If you have your dates set and are unsure, just book it up.
I've snaffled it up a week ago... $350 worth of freebies and reduced rates!! Makes my 6 day stay about $700!!!!

Some of the older planes have headphone sockets that have 2 x 3.5m plugs about 1/2 inch apart you can get the adapters from Maplins and somtimes Currys (or whatever they are called this week) I would not fly without noice cacnelling headphones and decent ones at that. You dont need to spend £350 on BOSE but a decent pair or schineessr SP or my ones which are JAMBRA C820's which were £35 on Ebay, you dont want in ear headphones for 12 hours.
Its Vegas time -no longer :T a five year old has changed Vegas time to Orlando time

The venetian didn’t credit our final day $50 dining credit as we didn’t go over $50 for the day. Not sure if it was a mistake or not as they also didn’t charge us for the mini bar we used so I didn't complain. Do check first though if you plan to not spend the full $50. The other 2 days where we did spend the full $50 were credited fine. The credit can be used for all the restaurants and the italian in the casino level food court. The upstairs foodcourt however, in particular Panda express didn’t allow room charging so the credit didn’t apply.
Dont quite understand. Its a $50 a day food credit isnt it? So if you only spend $40 they dont credit anything?

Didnt the small print say you dont get it on checkout day anyway as you will have got it on checkin day?

Also, if I dont use it one day, can I use $100 the next day?

    Cheers

PS - I booked my car through CarHire3000. Thanks everyone for the advice. Only booked for 4 days of my 11 trip, as this covers Hoover Dam and shopping and honestly, white russians will be calling me. I never drink at home so like the odd one on holiday :) 3 weeks to go.

Well we spent $38 dollars on the final day, i.e our final night not the checkout day and the full charge came through to our bill. i.e if you don't spend the full $50 they don't credit anything. I wasn't sure whether you were saying that's how it should be or not but I certainly expected to be able to spend up to $50 and not get charged until we went over $50. The other nights we spent over $50 and the charge came through net of the $50 credit.

As I said I didn't bother querying it as they also mucked up our minibar tab so it wasn't worth querying it as it worked out the same in the end anyway. But it may be worth clarifying at check in to make sure.

Also I very much doubt it is cumulative and can be carried over.

And yes you cannot use it checkout day.
