AugustWho was talking about lager, that's a girls drink!!! Never touch the stuff, don't want my mates to get the wrong idea:kisses3:
PS I may be American but I have lived in the U.K. for 35 years, the U.S. passport is is for convenience really, as I have family over there and do a fair bit of work as well. I wanted to become an English citizen years ago but they told me I had to become British instead, so I left it.
Well what can i say? This great land i reside in must be full of Homosexuals. I was under the impression men drank lager, old men drank bitter and those in the middle drank Rose'.
Having said that i once ordered Sams Island expecting it to be a lager and it wasn't, in comparison to John Smiths or Black Sheep that too tasted like rats urine - watered down.0 -

To me that's even better than the one I posted with the $50 food credit - $50 slot play a DAY? That's insane...especially if it is open to the public.
Crazy. I suppose there are some good sides to the credit crunch...but of course they all come right before the trip where we can't use them!Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
SeptemberWe used dollar and took the platnuim insurance you can then bring the car back empty off petrol ,have upto 5 more named drivers and get all the insurance's you will need.
also hire a garmin numi sat/nav for $40 pay when you get there.
if you have to get your own hotel transfers you will save money too.
hire a compact car form dollar for a week.
collect from bellagio $403.24
collect from circus $401.16
collect from airport $145.08
We hired a mid-size SUV as were driving on the Tioga Pass and we got a Toyota RAV4.
if you hire a car at noon Friday and return it at noon Monday although you use the car on 4 different days they only charge you for 3 days because their charges are periods off 24 hours.0 -
SeptemberThanks everyone for the advice on car hire. Now, another daft question. If I take it for the whole trip, does it matter if we use valet parking and leave it there for a few days if we don't need it. Assume that there's no charge, but thought best to ask. And is it easy driving an automatic. Always driven a manual... Even hire cars here are always manual.
Akane - I have a Garmin of my own, so will def be getting one with the car hire. Makes driving so stress free.Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0 -

Yes i think the offer is open to the public, there's nothing in the terms and conditions of the link i posted earlier to suggest otherwise. OH and i had pretty much decided not to go vegas this december, and wait until next summer but this offer is really tempting us:eek::starmod:C'est la vie:starmod:0 -

It's fine to leave it in valet for a few days - we do regularly...I have heard that there's some question about insurance cover if the car is out of your control, but have never actually heard of anyone having a problem.
We did leave it in self park at Bally's for 2 nights once (our last two nights) without ever going back to it and went out the last morning to load up the car and almost had a heart attack at the signs at the exit from the lift saying that parking level was closed for painting and that any cars parked had to be removed! Luckily it wasn't to start until later that day so we were able to get the car out.
Driving an automatic is very easy and you'll be especially grateful for it if you're in slow moving traffic...only problem I find is I keep trying to press the clutch pedal for a day or so.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

i like to run my dates through www.travelsupermarket.com just to be sure i'm getting best deal. have ended up with www.carhire3000.com last two USA trips , who i have had zero problems with . one hire ended up being with Dollar who where good , and Advantage who were not so good (although all problems where sorted pretty quick ) but the problems were not the fault of carhire 3000
also once used Airline Network ( now netflights) at the Mirage with Dollar . again zero problems here
i always use the Valet if it is available .
Automatics are very easy , just remember to put your foot on the brake when selecting the drive mode .
and it is worth re mentioning the turn right on red rule again. unless a traffic light has a sign saying otherwise you may turn Right on a red light providing nothing is coming or pedestrians in the wayBetter in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0
