Nothing to be be nervous about but just make sure that you book through an ATOL protected company or with your credit card. That way your covered should it go tits up- at least then you can still at least get your money back

I'd also add to that, that if you book through a travel agent (atol protected) then its up to them to get you on a flight home and they will arrange it should the company go tits up while you ron holiday. If you book direct with a flight company using your credit card you unfortunately have to foot the bill yourself and find your own way home.

    Planet Hollywood offer from travelzoo.

    http://hotels.travelzoo.com/las-vegas-hotels/472514?utm_source=top20_us&utm_medium=email_top20

The Planet Hollywood resort, located on The Strip in Las Vegas, just came out with the best offer we've ever seen from this upscale property. Stay for $79 per night -- 40% OFF regular rates -- and also receive these extras:
    • A FREE room upgrade to a Hollywood Hip Room with a 42-inch plasma TV
    • 2 FREE Spice Market Buffet tickets for breakfast
    • 500 bonus Starwood Preferred Guest points
    • $40 gaming bonus for new Player's Club members
Planet Hollywood's Hollywood Hip Rooms have just been renovated and are decorated with original Hollywood memorabilia and upscale-chic decor. The property also boasts hot spot restaurants such as Koi and the Vegas edition of Best American Steakhouse winner, Strip House.
There are 17 dates available for $79 through Dec. 27. Other dates start at just $10 more, and you still get the extras listed above. This special requires a 2-night minimum stay.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

We stayed at the Bellagio last march its a fantastic hotel but there were too many people(mostly americans) pretending to be something they are not by staying at a posh hotel yet they cannot even use a knife and fork.
I will refrain from commenting on this as I am not as diplomatic as Ferf and will only get into a slanging match again.
Sorry, can't resist. I hope that statement was a joke because I would hate for you to be acting the stereotypical British tourist who goes to a country and then proceeds to slag off the hosts.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

lol i think this is mis interpreted .

it's like Americans saying we brits don't anything about beer cause we like it almost warm. friendly banter IMO.

i totally agree about respecting your hosts when visiting. i would have threw the so called Ricky hatton supporters who booed the National anthem , out of the MGM grand so fast their knuckles wouldn't have had time to scrape the ground
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:

If that were the general consensus then Britain would shrink by about a million within hours :D

I am all for respecting hosts and wouldn't have booed the national anthem althoug i was there and heard others doing it. But then again i also heard Americans booing the British.

As for beer dont make me laugh! Americans dont have the slightest idea about how to brew, pull or even serve a nice pint.

You need to have a few at Ellis Island then. The amber beer from their own brewery is some of the best soft bitter I have ever tasted, and only $1 a pint.

You would say that - You're American.

In my opinion Bud and Miller taste like the urine of rats. Just accept the fact that you cannot compare to European Lager. Its not big deal. Oh, and British food tastes much better.

A few of you have spoken about car hire and I'm thinking about getting a car for a few days in my 10 night trip. I've only ever driven a car abroad once in France and is wasn't the best experience, so I've got a few questions please.

Is it better to get one on arrival at airport or to my hotel?
Do some hotels have better access for getting in and out? (as I'm in a few different hotels so could factor this in)
Is it a nightmare crossing the strip?
How do I make sure I get full cover for insurance?
Where do you recommend for hire? Heard Dollar mentioned a few times.

Figure we'll use the car for visiting Hoover Dam and a few shopping trips. Maybe for other day trips, but no firm plans on these yet.
Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!
