AugustWow, look who doesn't like anyone to disagree with him, bit childish really throwing insults don't you think??
Best re read the first bit of your first post on the subject
"People will give you a million tips and half will be garbage. What works for one does not work for another."
Now stop throwing your toys out of the pram.
And as for me, I think it's pants as well. I really want to spend my time with all the fanny pack brigade, not!
Calm yourself down Rambo i was only jesting. Although if you think what i wrote was insults rather than dry humourous comments perhpas i should call you Rambow - or son of.... (PM me if you dont geddit)

A -Hole? If it wasnt so damn unoffensive it might be offensive.
You keep paying $8 for a margarita in the Venetian or wherever you go - since Freemont is just too cheap for you. Then whilst im sat getting blathered on cheap beer ill think of you getting done from behind and paying extra for ice which you think is Evian - If indeed Evian is even good enough for you.

Most casinos down Freemont mate do the dollar margaritas. I think iirc its $2 per corona.0 -
AugustSo did we - the first time we went...thought it was lame and kinda seedy and almost scary (though we parked in some garage far too far away from the canopy)...that was probably 4 or 5 years ago and we only went back during the daytime after.
We went again in the evening in November last year only because we were meeting up with a friend who really wanted to go - and we had a great time...planning on going back with the in-laws in a couple of weeks (in fact, it's on the agenda for 2 weeks today). Personally, I don't get all that jazzed about the canopy shows - they're kind of 'meh' to me...though hoping to catch the Queen one when we're there as FIL is a big Queen fan.
It's all totally relative - I can completely understand why some people don't like it (and it's entirely possible that we won't enjoy it this time around)...we do still prefer the Strip ourselves - won't spend but a few hours downtown - for us that's quite enough...for others they prefer it down there...to each their own.
I have seen the queen one. At one point the whole ceiling is a Union Jack - Gave me shivers to see! Or maybe it was the DT's since id only just started out
My favourite was American Pie, must have been 2 thousand people or more all singing along to Don Mclean. Amazing.0 -
MarchWhere is it you get the $1 margaritas from ?
Having had a variety of $1 margaritas in Vegas, I can recommend those at Binions - they aren't $1, but they are much larger and much stronger than anything you will get for a buck..I think they're $6 but I guarantee there's more alcohol in them than 6 $1 margaritas, plus you get to keep the (plastic) cup.
I attribute some of my enjoyment of downtown in November to those margaritas.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
SeptemberOh ferf. Hadn't realised that they shows changed  Maybe that's why I didn't think it was as good last year. OH loves Queen. We saw We Will Rock You at Paris and I have a sixpence that Brian May threw out at end of their show on tour with Paul Rogers in Newcastle. Downtown is now definitely back on the list for this year (and I can go eat at Grotto again - love that place!)Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0

Off to Vegas on Friday \o/
Couple of quick questions:
1. Generally speaking, are Grand Canyon helicopter trips cheaper to book beforehand or once we get there? We're staying at the South Rim over the fortnight, but I fancy an late afternoon trip in the air too once we get back - straight flight for a few hours, no Skywalk or canyon floor stop required.
2. A few Cirque shows were mentioned earlier, does anyone have any good links to reviews so I can see what the shows actually involve to pick the one we'd like most? The Cirque site is vague to say the least. Also, does the show time/day make any real difference in people's experience? Aside from the crowd being more sozzled of course...:dance:0 -

I dont have a review link for you but would just say that if you want a cirque show to see as your first then Mystere is the one to see. Its cheaper and a more traditional cirque show, whereas the others are more fancy and themed. See Mystere first and if you like it go onto the others. Ka is also extremely good and you cna get cheap tickets from travelzoo at the moment.0 -
I still have yet to fiish reading this thread!! So much to read and take in!!!
However we are booking our flights this week!! How exciting!!
I am a little nervous though that we will book flights and another airline company goes bust or something!! Especially with flights being so expensive.
Is anyone else feeling nervous about booking flights at the moment??Dream of being mortgage free....
