First of all i would like to say thank you and comment on the work Trets77 has put into this Forum, i have found it most useful and appreciate the work and time you have put into this.
Now i would like to ask if anyone could help me get a good deal.
Theres a group of us 3/4 ppl (adults of course) wanting to go to Vegas around mid September 08 time, for 7 nights, with virgin airways, staying at one of these 7 hotels-
    • New York New York
    • Ceasars Palace
    • Treasure Island
    • Mirage
    • MGM
    • Wynn,Bellagio(but those 2 will probably too expensive)
The best we can get seems to be between £950 - £1150 with one of those hotels (minus Bel and Wynn) and flight with virgin. To me this seems quite a bit or more than i had hoped. Can anyone help get us a better deal?? Any information will be appreciated. thanks:j

It is to early to get any deals on hotels that far in advance, if the flight price is right book it and then keep looking on here or all the deals sites, Fatwallet etc and book hotels later.

All the deals sites are on the first page of this forum

virgin money and miles fare is not that attractive for mid sept unfortunately. . maybe they are upping the price because people have latched onto the method

leaving on 2nd Sunday of sept

    regular fare = £546 x 4 = £2184

    money and miles fare = £468 x 4 = £1872 + (8000 miles) £135 = £2007

so not much of saving . you also have the no previous activity thing in the money and miles terms and conditions to chance but you could get The credit card to get around this , and get 3000 miles into the bargain.

    going with the standard fare and your calculations on a package you get around £1615 ( $ 3232 ish) to spend on 2 rooms ( i assume ) for 7 nights ( including weekends) ( £950 -£546 = £404 x 4 people = £1616)

working on the only hotel offering a deal for sept ( at the moment ) the MGM grand with this offer https://reservations.mgmmirage.com/bookingengine.aspx?pid=001&host=promo&code=MKT037&kbid=374305&sub=vhh01

you get $1380 for 7 nights x 2 rooms = $2760 or around £1415 on current exchange rates . so already a saving of £200. but you will most probably find better deals than that one appearing from about 12 weeks out. September is a popular month but i would still expect you to beat $179 weekday price on that offer. of course the good news is you can book it now and cancel it later with no penalty's ( this offer says nothing about a no refund :D)

the flights are always the biggest hassle I'm afraid. you might find a offer from Virgin that beats that price but there is a good chance you won't ( sept is still summer holiday territory) and the fares disappear . it is hard to advise you which way to go as there is no hard set of rules that say which way they will.

however good news is on the Horizon ( it appears ) for future Las Vegas travelers . The Open skies agreement is just around the corner meaning that Theoretically the likes of Ryan Air could start flights there . (maybe this is bad news  as we could see a wave of chavs descend on Vegas ) , but more company's offering flights there will put downward pressure on the existing carriers.

there looks like a great Money program on the subject on this week

if you talking about hotels ...now . i'm going in April and check everyday for offers. Caesars offer of $100 a night is still way out in front at Moment . see page one and check out all the sites that list hotel deals.

Is that direct with Caesars or through a website?

That Caesars offer does seem to be quite a good one.

sabelu - both really...it's direct with Caesars but if you go through one of the websites included in post 1 which compile all the offers available through individual hotel websites you can easily find offers that suit your dates. I found it straight away on the fatwallet thread.

    Direct link seems to be

    https://www.harrahs.com/AvailabilityCalendar.do?propCode=CLV&packageCode=ICLTO&numAdults=1&numChildren=0&startingMonth=2008-02-01
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?
