MarchArticle in todays Gaurdian about the Vegas monrail "ride to ruin" has wall street worried.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2008/feb/16/useconomy.marketturmoil
I have never used it because it is so far from anywhere and have thought to myself that it was never a viable alternative to the strip buses
They shot themselves in the foot about a year ago when they increased prices - because that makes sense - they're losing too much money so increase the prices...which led to some previous riders abandoning it completely. I'm no bean counter, but even I can see that that was a silly plan.
Personally, I would never take a bus in Vegas as I take buses at least 5 days a week in London - I completely refuse to step foot on a bus on holiday unless it absolutely cannot be avoided.I like the monorail occasionally and while some of the stops are a long walk from the front of the casino others are a bit better - and it's really quick relatively speaking. MGM to Sahara in 15 minutes or less isn't bad. I also like seeing things from a different perspective - you can see some of the hotel pool areas from the monorail, etc. Areas you wouldn't normally see if you weren't a hotel guest. It's also well air conditioned and usually not too crowded.
It's all a personal choice really and I wouldn't use it as my primary mode of transport, but occasionally it's a nice way to get about we think.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Aprilif you have a desire to see what the Wynn Golf course is like then you get a great view from the Monorail on the way up to the Sahara.
guess they are kinda of like the Channel tunnel with this , now it's built they might as well keep it running , but some people are going to take a almighty hit on cost of building it . owe the bank a million = You have a problem. owe the bank a couple of hundred of million = Bank has a problem .
As regards for this threads poll i can set a new one up , but it is a complicated deal that requires help from the board admin. so the next one will be have to be for as long the thread is going ( till 2009 when we will start again with the guide at start most likely)
so i need ideas for what the poll will be. we could start a new Buffet one , or a poker room one, other suggestions i have thought of are , fav pool , or Fav casino game . any suggestions most welcome :A

Trets,
You could have a poll for favourite shows, there are plenty to choose from, I'm afraid I will be ineligible to vote as I've yet to visit the great city:sad:  but i'll be there in 91 days:beer: so after that i'll vote.

MarchI think favourite casino, show, hotel - any of those would be good ones.
The other option would be maybe use something like this:
http://www.snappoll.com/index_user.php
To set up links to various polls throughout the year, maybe you could keep a list of the links to the various polls in the first post.
It may be more work than I sounds and I wouldn't suggest anything that would be a complete hassle, so if it is, just ignore me.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

it is not a hassle, it's just that people are more likely to vote if it's on front page. the problem with MSE thread polls is that you don't get to put enough answers in ( max 10 ) . so i cannot put anything like enough options in for Fav Casino .
how about best month to vist  ? i could comibine Jan / Feb and Nov/ DecBetter in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
First of all i would like to say thank you and comment on the work Trets77 has put into this Forum, i have found it most useful and appreciate the work and time you have put into this.
