Loads of carriers from LAX and the legacy carriers often match fares with the LCCs .
I usually fly AA but last year took a bump and went UA 40 mins later LAS to LAX-and they were truely awful. Never seen so many miserable staff members both on the ground and in the air but at least it was a short flight and AA gave us $200 in vouchers each to do it. Made me decide to never fly UA so I suppose at least it was good to experience their "service" for nothingI Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Septemberthanks for the responces guys.
Duchy: Im after a full fare. I will be travelling on ID90 but 4 people will need to be on full fare for the internal flights as they are unable to use ID90 on an alternative carrier than I work for.
Will have another butchers at Virgin america, but would have preferred LAX as there are more carriers to Vegas.
will look at Southwest as have herd they are OK
another thought was driving over from San Fran or LAX. has anyone done this? Im not liking the thought of 4 hrs in a Minivan, plus the fees are looking more expensive than flying!
Thanks all
Aiden
We drove San Fran - Vegas last month, via Lake Tahoe. Don't know about going direct, but our total driving time was about 15 hours! :eek:Undefeated Wii Fit ski jump champion!

SeptemberHi Mookybargirl, thanks everso much for your info on vegas hotels. We can hardly wait for the 14th of Nov - roll on. Reading all the fantastic posts, makes me think you lot must live there - ha.. Whats Ballys like inside - it looks a oldish hotel? $59 is cheap eh?

I love Ballys and I know other people here too but it isn't everyone's choice. It's not as modern as the other hotels around it and it doesn't really have a theme, but the rooms are large (bigger than most basic rooms around the strip), the staff have always been so friendly to us and we're not big gamblers. The hotel itself connects to Paris too, so that's an added bonus. I would have booked this again for a few nights this trip at double that price, so I'm more than happy with the price. The location is the main draw for Bally's, as it's right across from Bellagio so a great place on the strip. There's also a free shuttle from here that will take you up to the Rio as it's within the same hotel group if you fancy a wander up there.
Maybe some of the other guys can tell what they think so it's not just my opinion - lolLove MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0 -

Another Bally's fan here for all of the reasons stated...it's our 'home' hotel and has been for several years now. we've always gotten an upgrade to the north tower for a $20 tip and a smile (saving $30/night) and really like the north tower refurbished rooms. Not the best views - the south tower (mostly unrefurbished) has some awesome views though so depends on what is important...nice newer room or good views.
In Vegas we're in the room so little that it's not worth it to us to stay at the more posh places for more than a night as a little treat...we've stayed at Wynn, Bellagio and Caesars and they're lovely, but Bally's is really home for us.
The casino is more laid back than most - it's not as flashy and we like it for that reason. Sometimes some of the strip casinos can be a bit much and retreating to Bally's at the end of the day is a welcome relief at times...others may think it's a bit lame for the very reasons we like it. All really down to personal preference - but as it's connected to Paris (with PH a few steps from Paris), across the street from Bellagio, across another stret from Bill's and then onto several others a relatively short walk away, etc...the location is great (we think).
The free shuttle goes from Paris now though, changed in March.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
OctoberNot stayed there but I did like the feel of the place:hello: LORRAINE :hello:0

A woman was stabbed outside Ballys when we were there last week
I'm sure it could have happened anywhere though...
Will get around to writing a bit of a report when I am less tired

I can think of so much more dodgy areas of Vegas that it does surprise me, but I think you're right - could happen anywhere really...especially as they were both prostitutes from what I've read.
And again, please don't let my in-laws read that.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

Welcome back. I hope you had a great trip. Looking forward to your report :beer:Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0 -
Aprilhey remember me  , seems like i have been away a few months not a few weeks.
had a mixed trip . good at the start , but i think we definatly tried to cram too much in and travel too far in the time we were there :embarasse ( Colorado , Nebraska , South Dakota , Wyoming , Montana , Idaho and Utah in 10 days  ) plus i have been to Ireland for 4 days after that:undecided .
At the mo i'm feeling a bit tried of travel so we have said this may be our last overseas trip for a while . i've said that before and gone back on it so who knows, the call of a cheap vegas trip may turn us around. :ABetter in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
..... i'm feeling a bit tried of travel ...
think i'll be feeling the same shortly. ive got a 10 day work trip to south korea in 2 weeks, come back for 2 weeks, then a week in rwanda, come back for 3 weeks then a week working in new orleans.
then when all thats done it'll be just 6 months til vegas :cool:0
