thanks for the tips guys, will let you all know how we get on.

we are going on the 6th october
A couple of other things. We complained that our room hadn't been cleaned properly when we arrived, so they upgraded us to a corner 1 bed suite, so you might try and play your face a bit if that way inclined. Also, if you are taking a car, it is valet ony at the Sig. so factor in all the tips that you will shell out whenever you want your car. tower 3 is our favorite as it is only a 5 mnute walk to Planet Ho, and from there the strip
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Guys, I'm just about to book my car for the trip from vegas to the canyon. We are going for the nights of 11th Oct and 12th Oct.

My question is do I go for a convertible or not? Booking through airline network the other option is a Chyrsler 300.

The typical weather charts suggests it may be worthwhile but the odd comment on here suggests otherwise. Also its easier to see the views with the top down but if its too cold then we would be sacrificing the better vehicle for a sebring.

    So yah or nay?

    Thanks.

If you can afford it I would definitely go for the convertible. Unfortunately it was out of our budget, but if you're only hiring for a day or two and theres a few of you it could well be worth it.

Its not cost thats the issue. If we dont go for the convertible we will get a similar priced non convertible. The issue is if the weather suits one at that time of year or not.

If the weather is too cold for one then I would rather get the 300, but as I said the charts suggest its warm still but Ive heard others say its very cold.

it's very cold in the evenings, night, early morning at the GC that time of year (we'll be there 10 days after you and evening temps are at or about freezing). Daytime might be nice enough though, so maybe it depends on when you'll be doing the bulk of the driving to and from.

  • Looking at the BMI sale it seems the sale prices for my selected dates have dropped to under £400pp (from nearly £600) from Manchester via Chicago. How does BMI's service via this route compare to United or NWA from London? The prices are pretty much the same but we're interested in how the legroom, seat pitch etc compares as we're conscious of going with the best overall flight experience (as we're both larger than average for want of a better expression). If theres little difference BMI would probably be preferable as Manchester is a lot closer to home than London.
  • Ive just booked my flights for next year.

We're going heathrow to LA then onto Vegas.

Economy tickets with Virgin £665, then upgradeed to UC on the way out for 30k virgin miles each.

Once Ive completed a couple of work trips I'l lhave enough miles to then upgrade the return leg from LA to UC.

So that will be 2 x UC returns to LAX for £665 per person.

And yes, I am feeling rather smug about it this afternoon.

You can check www.seatguru.com for details of the various different planes involved if no one has flown on the various airlines to give you a comparison.

Interesting. Can I ask what type of fare you chose initially? Only ask because I think you can only upgrade from certain class of tickets - so have never looked into it too much as I was always afraid I would screw up the original purchase and be stuck with overpriced economy seats which I couldn't upgrade using miles.

This is a very interesting idea for us so appreciate the input.
