Looks like there are no one-way fees between Nevada and California so success!
Just 5 days til we go now, can't wait!
What has everyone found the best big outlet mall is for major shopping? We are planning on spending a day shopping. The Las Vegas Fashion Outlet the best option? We don't mind travelling. Alternatively if there is a better big outlet centre near SF or LA then we could go there instead.0 -

Good news on the drop fee, or lack thereof.
As for outlets, it's a relative thing I think - many of the shops are the same at all of them but each has a few shops not available at the others, so it may be best to have a look at the list of stores for each and see which one or ones is best for you. Obviously The Las Vegas Fashion Outlet is a bit of a drive but as you'll have a car, and be heading that way, you can stop on your way if you want. Also, if you're a roller coaster fan you can ride Desperado before or after your shopping at that one.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
as i am staying in the signature and i will be trying the 20 dollar tip. what is the best i can asked? i know there are 3 towers so is tower 1 the best. a high level?? or which direction to face. sorry for the dumb questions but i just want this trip to be perfect
If you just want a high level (Penthouse floor) room then just ask, no need to waste $20. If you're trying to upgrade a junior suite to a 1BR I don't think many people have had much luck with tipping/bribing the check-in staff.
Which tower you're in will be pre-determined before you checkin.0 -

Agree about not needing to use the $20 trick. If you can't get a high level room then you may end up with or without a balcony - so if you want one ask! No real difference in the 3 towers, they all have minor pros and cons.
As for view, as we have said before the building site that is PH or the airport are the options.0 -

tower 1 is nearest MGM and tower 3 is nearest the strip, that to me is the favoured one. I love the Sig. but to one big problem i have with it is that the beds by the pool are iron, so when ever someone moves one, the noise is deafening, you have absolutely zilch chance of getting any sleep by the pool. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
AugustI think all rooms have balconies, but I could be wrong. The reason the $20 trick doesn't work is because all the apartments are privately owned, so you are only allocated according to what you have paid for. You can ask for a higher floor though, and mountain or strip view.

Not all have balconies (the junior suites dont i think) i posted some floor plans for each of the suites on here not so long ago and the junior didnt have them on.
There has been a little talk about it on the link below- but as stoneman said as they are privately owned they may not have a bulk of suites lying empty as they only manage so many (easier for them to do when they own a full casino of rooms as the rooms will hardly ever be filled to capacity.
Give it a try and let us know how you get on when you return.

The only ones that don't have balconies are the ones that sit either side on the centre section of each tower ...the sort of regoin the lift goes up (but not quite!) . Junior suites generally do have balconies.
Tower 3 is our favourite as well ..closest to the strip by going out the back way rather than through the MGM, it has one of the Gyms and of course its the newest!0 -
thanks for the tips guys, will let you all know how we get on.
we are going on the 6th october0 -
JulyHello all,
Ive just received notification from BMI that one of their sales begins tommorrow 5/9/08. BMI fly to Vegas from various airports and the conditions for the USA/Caribbean sale fares are as follows:-
"3 day or Saturday night stay required. Lowest sale fares for USA are available from 1 Nov 08 - 31 Mar 09. Higher sale fares are available from 5 Sept 08 to 31 Oct 08. Changes are permitted for £50 per ticket plus any difference in fare if original fare paid is no longer available.
Book between 5th and 30 September for travel up to 31 March 09".
Have a look at their website for further information.
Hope this helps someone - I, personally, booked my BMI flight for June/July this year in their Nov07 sale - so am not sure just yet if this will be the cheapest fare for me for 09.... hmmm, we'll see!
Steff
I have had a quick look at the BMI sale that started today and it seems that the MAN - LAS DIRECT flights are not in the sale.
I have looked at a couple of one week flight times in March 09 and the indirect sale prices were coming out around £440 per person for March - that is almost as bad as the June/July prices that I am used to paying - doesnt bode well..... Hope that some of you manage to find a decent flight price in the sale...

Guys, I'm just about to book my car for the trip from vegas to the canyon. We are going for the nights of 11th Oct and 12th Oct.
My question is do I go for a convertible or not? Booking through airline network the other option is a Chyrsler 300.
The typical weather charts suggests it may be worthwhile but the odd comment on here suggests otherwise. Also its easier to see the views with the top down but if its too cold then we would be sacrificing the better vehicle for a sebring.
So yah or nay?
Thanks.0
