We've done that several times - we book our main hotel for the duration, then book one night somewhere we want to try out...we pack just an overnight bag only and leave the rest in our main room.

Some will split their trip between different hotels too and check out of the first and into the second...really depends if you're up for a full-scale move mid-trip (we aren't, we're lazy. :))

the ACG has gone downhill IMHO. Every year there are less and less coupons of worth in there. Virtually nothing to use on the strip (with a very few exceptions) and as we are already members of most of the players clubs, a lot of the free stuff for joining is void for us. A few 241 buffets in the old casinos, and some match plays that you need a car to get to you should have seen that book 10 years ago.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

We've only been buying it for the last 4 years or so but even in that period I agree...the point about existing players club members not being eligible for the freebies in the ACG is a big one I think...plus it seems to me (and maybe I'm imagining it) more and more of the ACG coupons can be found loads of other places for free. Maybe it was always that way but now we know where to look for the freebies. Depending on next year's list we may opt not to buy it but with our in-laws joining us next month for their first Vegas trip we will be able to use all those first-timer coupons this trip at least. The POV is more expensive, but better quality of coupons in it.

Deal for anyone considering staying downtown (not many of us do, but you never know).

Las Vegas is known for great deals such as $.99 shrimp cocktail and $7.77 steaks. We just found an equally good deal at Downtown Las Vegas' only AAA 4-Diamond hotel. The Golden Nugget is offering a 45% OFF sale on most dates through Dec. 24, including:
    • $49 .... Sept. 3-4, 10-11, 28-Oct. 1
      Nov. 23-26, 30
      Dec. 14-18, 21-24
    • $59-$99 ... 50+ dates through Dec. 24, including select weekends in September, November and December
On all available dates, you will also get 2-for-1 tickets to "Defending the Caveman" ($52 value) and a Golden Values coupon book.
Room upgrades are also discounted, including their North Tower Room with 42" plasma TVs and their Gold Club Room with exclusive key-card access, marble vanities and leather sofas.

    Hi

I'm thinking of going to Las Vegas next July for the whole month.

Is it cheaper to book an appartment than an hotel?

Anyone know any addresses and prices?

    Tks

We booked the this house for our wedding for a week about 10 mins form TI/Wynn really nice http://www.vrbo.com/82507. Many hotels will not let you book longer than 2 weeks
Its Vegas time -no longer :T a five year old has changed Vegas time to Orlando time

I first thought that was insanely expensive until I read it slept 8-10. :)

I agree that many hotels will restrict the duration of a stay - there's some weird residency law in Nevada.

If it were me, I would probably do a week in a hotel on the strip, two weeks in a house, and the last week on the strip. I just think that you get a more varied experience that way...and for us, as we like our slots and easy access to them, I'm not sure we would even like a house. But in July it would be nice to have your own personal pool. :)

Thanks Sew but I wasn't thinking of spending as much as $3500 for the month.

I'm by myself and was hoping I could find a cheaper appartment.

I was wondering if anyone had advice on car hire. We want to hire for 3 nights picking up in Vegas, dropping in San Francisco. I'm getting best quotes of about £57, only problem is I'm under 24 and all sites seem to charge an extra $30 a day for a driver 21-24. This seems a bit crazy to me... any suggestions?
