There are a stack of free Wi-Fi sites in Vegas including within PH ...that have been listed in this thread many times before. As for the Apple store ...they had moved the seats/tables from in front of the store to stop people with laptops lurking outside.0 -

Their website says:
In addition, every room boasts two, double-line speakerphones, one with a dataport and a separate CAT-5 high-speed dataport.
So it looks like a wired connection only. We used the ones at Bally's and Caesars the last 2 trips and it was $12.99 for 24 hours and speeds were good. We thought that was pretty good value to have access to the internet anytime we wanted without having to leave the room and lug the laptop around...and my husband was able to watch Formula 1 races on my laptop in the wee small hours of the morning...so that made it extra worth it for him.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
AprilHI everyone! I'm looking at going to Las Vegas in the not too distant future and have a query. Back in 2004 I was arrested for drunk and disorderly coming out of a night club and was placed in the cells for the night to sober up. No action was taken by the police and i was sent on my way without any charges or a caution. Do i need to apply to the US embassy for a visa, or do i even need to let the authorities know about this? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you Derek
similar questions appear on the MSE travel forum every week . back up to the main travel index and go back a few pages
, or do a search of the forums . like this search http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/search.html?searchid=34434019
or better yet post a new thread so the people who usually answer these questions can reply ( they might not be looking on this thread). i doubt you need a VISA but i'm no expert in this field
if your going after 2008 you will need a ESTA before you can get on the plane

I have.
Done it a week ago, its just like filling out the landing card when on the plane.
Our vegas trip isnt til next june, but ive got awork trip to new orleans this december so thought that we might as well do it now while its free (its valid for 2 years as long as your passport doesnt run out)
Filled in the required info, specifics, like hotel address and flight details can be amended when confirmed, but dont loose the confirmation number they give you as you dont get email confirmation.
Took 2 mins to do, and both of us were authorised in seconds.0 -

I haven't looked into it too closely yet as it won't apply to me and my husband needs to get a new passport before Feb, so might as well wait to do the ESTA thing until we're back from our trip in October.
But I wonder if this will be like the Australian ETA system...where you go and do what you do to get the ETA sorted and then the airline is notified that you're OK to travel. We have never needed a confirmation number when checking in for a flight to Australia...so hopefully you won't need to have the confirmation number with you for the ESTA system (though I absolutely think it would be a good thing to have and it's good info to know that you won't be getting it later by email!)Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

Wi-fi definately available at PH, $12.99 per day. Free wifi also available at ESPN zone in NYNY Hotel (and just outside !). Is there a complete list of free wi-fi in Vegas anywhere on the web ? Would be really useful if so.0 -
Bit of winge first of all. Gutted!! I booked a week in vegas in October staying at the MGM grand! but in the end booked indirect flights as the flights with Virgin were nearly £700. Now they have dropped to £450 which is only a little more than what I paid for the indirect! Sods law huh!!! Oh Well
Anyway the real question is.... should we bother joining a player club in vegas - considering its unlikely we will return in the next few years and me and my husband probably won;t be gambling more than about £75 a day (between us)......
Alot of websites I have been reading say you should sign up??0 -

it costs nothing to sign up , and most places give you a freebie of some sort or anthor. Harrahs gave me a voucher for the buffet , voucher for the Mac king show , a drinks voucher , and a stadium blanket ( which i still use now and then) before i had staked a single $.
Planet hollywood did give you $20 free slot play as did the Golden Nugget.
Wynn players club lets you get a free buffet for modest gambling stake (which you can exploit with 2 people by betting on all outcomes at roulette)
$75 a day probably won't earn you much comps but it might earn you something ( e.g a free T shirt) by being signed up so what have you got to lose .Can anyone give me the direct link for th ESTA as I allways seem to get this on the link from their site
Internal Server Error
there are links for the ESTA on post#1 of this thread.
also try using Firefox , disabling any pop up blockers , and configuring your firewall to ask you what action to take rather than letting it decide . you can switch it back after your done . this does not mean disabling your firewall !!Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0
