I see you mentioned ticketmasters for the spamalot deal.

I have just looked and the offer runs out today, unless you know otherwise? I would like to go when we are there.

I want to buy 4000 miles and buy 2 tickets to LV for Aug 27-Sept 4 2008 but am concerned that the terms and conditions appear to show that you can no longer use miles and money unless you have previous flyer miles activity in your account.

Has anyone successfully purchased tickets to Vegas using this method recently?

    Many thanks!

i have flown with Virgin before and was unaware of this little clause when i booked my Money and Miles fare. i had meant to check this out with which legal services but never got around to it.
others have booked up withy no previous activity , and had no problems. no one is quite sure when this clause came in , as Virgin sales staff have suggest doing this method to people last year.

apply for the credit card if you worried.

a brief my 2 cents on the shows i've seen.( if you want to know more just ask)

Phantom of the opera @ Venetian .....truly awesome , and a steal at half price ( score out of 10 ) 8
    hme_logo.jpg

Mamma Mia @Mandalay Bay .....enjoyed and i'm not a musical fan 7
    mamma-mia-las-vegas-in-las-vegas-1.jpg

Rita Rudner @ Harrahs .... funny, but only worth seeing at half price. 6
    rita-rudner1.jpg

Dirty @ Krave ...very very funny , but definatly for 20 and 30 somethings 7
    dirty-hypnosis-unleashed-logo-large.jpg

Mac King @ Harrahs ... the best value show on the strip bar none ($10 each when you join players club) and better than a lot of high priced shows .. 8
    mac_king_300x225.jpg

Ronn lucas ..okay if the price is right... 6

    14-50-42large.jpg

The Producers @ Paris ... not my cup of tea even at half price 4

    producers_300x225.jpg

spamalot @Wynn ... pretty much all the same old jokes from the monty python films... not great 4

    las-vegas-shows-spamalot.jpg

Amazing Johnaton @Sahara.... a riot , would see this again 8

    las-vegas-shows-amazing-johnathan-big.jpg

Blue Man group @ Venetian ..okay i saw this in Toronto not Vegas , but it the best show i have ever seen . very hard to describe but very entertaining 9

    Blue-Man-Group.jpg

Dirk Arthur @ Tropicanna .. good fun for half price or less . 6

    dirka.jpg

Hairspray @ Luxor.. hated every second 1

    hairspray_logo.jpg

Jubliee @ Ballys ...the biggest showgirl and feathers show in the capital of such shows. very OTT and spectacular with more naked flesh ( male and female ) than you your eyeballs can take in .... 8

    bally_jubilee.jpg

Popvich comedy animal Theatre @ Planet Hollywood. a must see if your a cat lover , but some of the other bits are hit and miss , plus it's a short show 6

Whoops - I didn't notice that. May want to check back as they seem to update them fairly regularly.

Goldstarevents.com may have ones that suit you though perhaps not quite as good of a deal as the TMDEAL offer was -

A bit of a service fee, but you may find a good deal.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?
  • i can wait till the kids are 16 so i can go to vegas, so can i take them?
there seems a lot to do during the day and evening, however i know the casinos are a no go for kids. how about everywhere else is it ok?
and do the hotels have kids clubs during the day and evening?
    thanks

No kid's clubs at the hotels, Vegas is more geared towards adults. However there is Adventuredome theme rides at Circus Circus and Excalibur is a more child friendly hotel.

Some of the hotels have a Kid's Quest -

Palms is the only one near the strip. Seems like Excalibur has something similar but I'm not sure about it. I'm not sure though why the 16-year-old cut-off you suggest? I can't think of anything more that they could do at 16 than they could do a bit younger. Some shows may be 16+ but I would think most that have restrictions are 18+ or 21+. 16 really isn't a threshold for much in the US that I can think of...other than getting your driving licence. :)

looks like Caesars has moved into poll position for our stay in April  . I'm getting $100 for weeknights and $200 for Friday night , only $20 more expensive than my Fall back Ballys booking , which has now been cancelled now this has been booked
I've been checking for new posts and its all been very quiet lately, where's everyone gone.............................................. ............... Vegas! :rotfl:

    Sorry about that :p

    Ok weather question,
I've been observing the weather in Vegas and it doesnt seem very warm!! Is this typical for the time of year? Will it start to heat up quite quickly?

I have planned my suitcase based on warmish weather, skirts/shorts, tshirts but now I'm thinking its more like jeans weather??

OR is Vegas cold different from UK cold?... as I sit here freezing with snow closing in all around and although I appreciate the picturesque beauty of it all, I am really looking forward to warm sunny days in Vegas

    were are here :hello:

In Decemeber just gone , it was sunny and mild. short sleeves most days but long sleeves for night time. Vegas does see the seasons , it snows about one year in two i'm told . also flash flooding and violent thunder storms are experianced.

dress for mild but nice ( the probable weather) but don't expect the summer temps and sun yet.
