Sorry about that
Ok weather question,
I've been observing the weather in Vegas and it doesnt seem very warm!! Is this typical for the time of year? Will it start to heat up quite quickly?
I have planned my suitcase based on warmish weather, skirts/shorts, tshirts but now I'm thinking its more like jeans weather??
OR is Vegas cold different from UK cold?... as I sit here freezing with snow closing in all around and although I appreciate the picturesque beauty of it all, I am really looking forward to warm sunny days in Vegas.
Leaving in
January is quite cold in Vegas so if you are looking at the current conditions they may not quite match your expectations. Based on your countdown I think you are going early March, is that right? You can see averages for each day of the month here:
http://www.weather.com/weather/wxclimatology/daily/USNV0049?climoMonth=3
It's likely to be quite warm compared to the UK, and probably also quite sunny...but unlikely to be hot. we're going mid-March and will take a combination of clothes as while the daily highs will be quite pleasant to us, the evenings will likely be near freezing.
That said, when we went in November which was supposed to have highs and lows pretty close to March it was in the high 80s most days! Completely screwed with my pre-packing.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
...I think that Carrot Top - rather frantic prop and pop-culture comedy at Luxor - is absolutely hilarious...thought he was worth full price, but got 1/2 price tickets...I was in tears I laughed so much.
we really enjoyed Penn & Teller but reviews vary from loved it to hated it - there seems little happy medium.
Again, if we had an idea what sort of shows you would be interested in we could narrow down our recommendations!
I love music and musicals, anything theatrical, the OH isnt so hot on that. He prefers comedy. I mentioned going to see Phantom, but he turned his nose up!!
I think if there was a good comedy show you could recommend then I could take OH (we've seen Jack Dee, Freddie Starr and Joan Rivers in Belfast). And good variety shows.
I'm easy pleased, but trying to get the OH interested in going can be a problem!! We both like the Beatles music and we have the Love album so that would be good to see. Where and when is best place to get tickets? Book before we go, or when we get there?
Thanks for your help :T
PS - what does 'dark' mean when looking at show times?!0 -
Dark means the theatre is dark - i.e. ...there isn't a show on.
I highly recommend KA - probably the best live show I've ever seen with a stunning stage design. The theatre was actually designed around the show rather than the other way round.
My other tip is Happy Hour at the Tequila Bar in Ballys - massive margaritas for five dollars a throw ( that's about £2.50 ) with free nachos and dips.
I think it's between 5pmm and 7pm but I can't remember because I only ever left the place mullahed.0 -
just posting my countdowm clock hope it works0

I've just watched the video clip on the website for this and it looks awesome!

Do you mind me asking where you are flying from? We are trying to get booked for Las Vegas in May ? No direct flight out of Belfast in May tho.......Only March and thats too early for us0 -

The direct flights from Belfast in March were mega bucks, although our stay involves coming home Easter Weekend which I think put prices up. I booked with Opodo, 7 nights Planet Hollywood, direct flights Manchester to Vegas for £753 per person.
When I looked at flights separate from hotels, cheapest I could get was £513 for flights from Manchester.
If you're prepared to hop over to London or Manchester you should be able to flights at a decent price.0 -

Perfect example of differing taste in shows...Ka was my least favorite of the 4 Cirque shows we've seen.
My favorite (as I am not a Beatles fan and so could not fully appreciate Love) was O.

Video at that link.
It's all very relative.
Most Cirque shows should be booked in advance. Occasionally you will see an online deal - we got Ka at 2-for-1 for November. There was a ridiculous deal last year for $50 seats for all shows except O...but that's pretty rare.
I think that Carrot Top is absolutely hilarious and usually available at the tix4tonight booth for 1/2 price early in the day (they do usually sell out at some point during the day).
Can't find much video of him online but there is this with a few short clips from his show...not a lot there though.

What about The Producers? Does that suit both of your tastes? It's at Paris

The 1/2 price booth normally has tickets and there have been some good specials online as well.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0
