    Hello Vegas Experts

We have just booked to go from 10th Nov - 20th Nov (10 Nights)

Quite fancy staying in a couple of places, maybe one cheaper than the other, also may fancy going off for the weekend, maybe hire a car drive to see the grand canyon, if anyone can comment on that!

Would it be of any advanage to book up hotels now (with view to cancel and re-book better deals when they come available) - if you do this I presume its best to book with a post office card as wont get charged for doing it?

As im exited, been looking at hotels and there are almost too many!

Can get the bellagio at 199 dollers a night for the last 4 nights, if that a good deal?

Hoping to spend around 1000 dollers on hotels in total.

    cheers

    Matt

at $199 x4nights = $600 so only $400 for six nights might be pushing it on the strip , even more so with a 2 weekend nights included ( i assume they are not in with 4 Bellagio nights) i cannot ever remember seeing it for less than $160 a night so $199 is worth booking IMO , if it is direct and you have your heart set on it. but don't stop checking the offers between now and then you can probably get them to price match it without cancelling . and of course your Post Office CC is the way to go as always .:D
I typed in my dates (July 16-23) & I don't see anything at all. I can't find anything for dates after April. Am I doing something wrong?

seem to be sold out , which is strange since it is a new offer  . call them quoting the code to make sure .

here is the offer (+ others) for everybody.

    Regarding the $20 tip trick...
Im away in June for two weeks at the Flamingo, do you think one of the 'complimentry upgrades' would work with a two week stay?
Quite liking the idea of upgrading to a GO room or one with a view :)

    Hi Matt,

We drive to the Grand Canyon when we were in Vegas for New Year - it is a LONG way! Well worth it IMO, and it's a great way to relax and escape the hustle and bustle of Vegas for a while.

I would recommend staying over at the Grand Canyon for a night though - trying to get there and back in a day would be too much I think (although I am sure people do it).

Thanks, any ideas on where to stay over?

I was just having a look on the fatwallet site & was looking at 1 of the new deals posted.

Hilton Las Vegas, hot dates promo, runs until 28th Dec.

    .

Far too early for the summer bargains. Start looking just after Easter.

I have no idea if this is the reason, but the American Contract Bridge League is having a convention at the Hilton from 17.07.08 to 27.07.08 - only 8,000 attendees so relatively small...but given that the Hilton only (only!) has 3,000 rooms that could be a factor in room availability and pricing for that period for that hotel...not everyone will stay at the hotel hosting their conference, but a lot will for convenience.

Also about the Top of the World restuarant in Stratosphere, we were thinking about going there for a meal, anyone recommend? Is it worth upwards of $150?

    advice welcome,

I've olny been there during the day - do they jack the prices up for evening dining? Last year we had a couple of starters, mains and two cocktails for just over $100 and while the missus's pasta might not have been expensive I had a whopper of a steak.

    OK thanks.

So based on this will the prices which are available just now, on sites like Expedia etc, which seem reasonable to me (keep in mind I'm a Vegas newbie) will come down?

I'm always wary of not booking a good offer incase the prices go up the way. I know Vegas is massive, rooms are plentiful, but I just wanna be sure.

Also, I have been pricing 2 nights in Bellagio & MGM Signature (Monday & Tuesday before we come home). They both seem to be £230 - is this good?

    Thanks.

Might do, but you better get a Benjamin ($100) out, not a 20 ;)
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Expedia is good as a point of reference but the deals you will find will be direct with the hotel. Generally July is an inexpensive month for hotels in Vegas due to the heat.

If you want to book something you would be happy with now to be sure you have something booked then that's fine - lots of people do it as a back-up. Plenty here book various different options and then decide later what to keep and what to cancel. But book direct with the hotel so you can cancel if you find a better deal. In most cases you will find much better rates much closer to the time.

As for Bellagio at least - for a standard room for your dates it's currently $209/night on their website...so less than Expedia already - or at least comparable after taxes. And you would only pay the 1st night when you book and could cancel (and have the 1st night refunded) if you find a better offer - or you could call them to say that you've seen that there's a promotion now for your dates and could they adjust the charges. Last year Bellagio had some promotions come out in April, May and June for the rest of the summer...may be that the same happens again. For a standard room I would think you would get it for $159-$179 based on what I've seen in previous years...unless there's an unknown factor which may impact room rates (big sporting event, conferences, etc.)

    Morning - lol,
We tried this (with the $100) for an upgrade for our last fourteen nigh stay at the Rio - the lady on the desk laughed at us saying "no way could she do that for two whole weeks".

We got a rubbish room (low floor with view of air con units and delivery site) cos the hotel was nearly at capacity BUT we did get one of the refurbed rooms in the Ipanema Tower (as opposed to the rather dated ones in the Masquerade Tower). Needless to say she didnt get the $100 but she did get the $20 - she seemed to do her best for us!!!

It doesnt hurt to try though - right? Good Luck!
