Stew, I've just read your report. Thanks for taking the time to write it. It sounds as if we were in Vegas at the same time.

only complaint of the flight which wasnt virgins fault is we had to wait an hour to take off after we had boarded, however by the time we landed we were only 20 mins late, had to wait about 45 mins to clear customs
i do believe we were on the same flight :D (27/5 ?)

must admit my heart sank when i heard they'd lost the 'take-off' slot due to problems with 'a passenger'

we did twilight and managed to snaffle exit row seats right at the front... best £75 i ever spent

plus the drinks didn't run out and the inflight worked fine....

HOWEVER, today's journey back was horrendous in comparison... got to to airport a bit later than usual to see a big queue and the people in front appeared to get the last two exit row seats... not a massive problem though as i'd managed to secure the two seats at the back of the plane - didn't bother checking the ticket though and when i got on the plane realised they'd assigned us the middle row of 4 at the back :(

on the upside, it had the vport stuff on - first Vegas flight i've ever had with the newer vport - didn't make up for the lack of exit rows and incorrect assignment of seats though :(

think we may gamble on a BMI(?) late booking next time :)

did loads (16nights all around west-coast) and will try to do some sort of report / photos later

Trying to decide between the two. Any opinions please?

    Thanks
hmmm, stayed in each (TI Petite Suite in Dec'06 and Bellagio Salone Suite for the past 4 nights :D ) - both were fantastic, with the Petite having a bigger whirlpool bath (big enough for two!) but have to say the Salone was absolutely brilliant, with a view of the fountains (and as someone said a slight view of the CC construction (but couldn't hear any of it due to the soundproofing being brilliant!)

edit: salone room was obviously in the spa tower, not sure how this compares with the 'older' part of the bellagio

    Pebblesmax,

I think you arrived on the Wednesday after we arrived on the Sunday, I did look out for you I can't believe we didn't bump into each other......

One thing I did notice was that I didn't bump into that many brits. I know its a big place and all that but you go to Florida and you can't move for British football shirts.

Hope you had a good time,

    Stew

We had a good time up to a point. Tony was attacked by th Killer Mexican Tomatoes on the Sunday, so that spoiled our trip a bit. We were there 21st May to 11th June. Saw Cher (awesome) but not much else because of the sickness. You were prompt with your TR, don't think I will do it so quickly.

a good MSE question occured to me when i woke in night , after having a very nice dream about being in Vegas and winning on the slots .

If you were to lucky enough to win a sizable amount , (lets say $100,000 on a slot machine for example ) what would be the best way of maximizing your winnings in the change from $ to £ ?

i cannot believe taking hard cash home would be best (or safest) . yet i know i have been quoted by Lloyds TSB in the past a % figure rather than a flat fee for cashing a dollar cheque. would a electronic transfer of funds from USA to your bank account be best ??? and also which bank would give then best rate ??

i know how to get the most $ for my £ , but have never brought anything back to know how to do it the other way around.

have a great trip Ferf BTW
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:
