I am thinking of keeping in touch with the family via email as opposed to phoning them from Las Vegas. Are there internet Booths , Internet cafes etc on the Strip. I wont be bringing my laptop but just want to check my email and send a few back.
Not even sure my mobile will work in Vegas.so has to be email

There is an internet cafe on the ground floor of the Imperial Palace you pay as you surf and let me tell you now it eats money.....not cheap but if you are only doing it once or twice during your stay it will be ok.....handy for printing off your boarding passes for the return journey as well...
    Have a look here

it's always a 1st time vistors mistake to think that the casino they are heading too is walkable , because it looks so close.

well apparently it's not just the size of the places that helps create this illusion

Most have a business centre which isn't cheap...most hotels also have some sort of internet kiosks scattered about - usually near reception...there's also an internet cafe at Hawaiian Marketplace near MGM - I think it's $12/hour there - much better value but just depends on how much time you will use and whether a trip to the cafe is worth it to you. I think their hours are pretty good where the business centres are a lot more limited.

Harrah's has some sort of tucked away on a 2nd level - I think it's the conference area, I know you take an escalator up there from the casino floor...it's a bit more secluded than the regular free-standing kiosks, and you can sit down...but it wasn't cheap - seems like $5 for 10 minutes or something, but they did have printers.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Its just to send 2-3 emails maybe once or twice at the msot whilst i am there for the week. Not surfing or anything

Well thats us booked for end of April 2009. We fly with BMI (Business Class) to Vegas. Staying for 5 nights and then a one way flight to Florida to spend some time there.

There are four of us travelling (2 couples) middle aged so would appreciate any advice as its our first time to Vegas. I know a lot ha been posted and I've been reading many of the great posts so looking for the experts for some advice mostly around staying in a hotel which is about 4* class and in a good location on the strip. Also any recommended restaurants, excursions and shows.

    Looking forward to it already.

    Thanks

Convention Centre monorail stop used to have free internet acces - ie as well as you being able to use your own laptop you could also use one of their pc's that are set up for free access. With staying at the Siganture we never had to use it this time so I'm just assuming its still there and still free.

While walking through the Fashion Mall I noticed the seats outside the Apple store have been moved further away ...I wonder if they got sick of people sitting outside their shop using their free connection.

The Signature rooms do have free wifi, well not exactly free, as its included in the $15 a day resort fee. Or you can access through your tv screen, but there is a seperate charge for that.

There are a couple of internet/phone kiosks in The Fashion Show Mall
