LOVE was great - one bit this huge "sheet" came down and covered most of the audience, and then a platform rose from the centre of the stage and it looked just like waves on the ocean.....possibly Yellow Submarine......was on our second night and I was still jet-lagged/tired after the flight and waking up at 2am that morning (and playing BJ for 5 hours before breakfast!!!).

I also heard O was fantastic....some friends of ours saw it during their stay (they were at The Wynn).

    So that's a recommendation then!

Can I asked much you paid for your tickets? Also, did you sit near the front, mid or back?

We sat just in the centre just past the middle - was the perfect place as there was so much going on around the theatre.

we also really liked Love and O (and Mystere)...not as big on Ka.

I think all Cirque shows are best seen from mid-way up or higher...we had front row seats for Love...biggest Vegas show mistake ever. Planning to go again with the in-laws in October and won't make the same mistake again!
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Were you really mugged or just scaremongering (sorry if you were).
I have stayed at the Strat, Sahara and CC and have walked outside at nightime and have never had any hassle, maybe I have been lucky. i do agree tho that the other end of the strip is a nicer place to be

yes i really was mugged at knife point...just coming back from seeing elton john we decided to walk back to the hotel so it was around 10pm.Thank goodness i had nothing in my bag as i didn't take anything to the showHe got my bag with $10 in it..UNLUCKY!..It was near Ross oppositte circus circus right outside a store that we were going in to get some snacks for the room..infact i was thrown against the store window...I know it can happen anywhere but i would rather stay up the other end as it is a bit seedy when you get as far as circus circus...My mum was with me and she is going again in June so i am looking to book her tonight..sahara is coming up cheap but i won't let her stay down that end again!

Dam is about a 45 minute drive from Vegas, and theres a shooting range on the way back where you can try your hand with an Uzzi.....really. I think Dam is the opposite direction to the GC.

We've done the tour before but want to take my in-laws.

And The Gun Store is possibly on the list too - I've wanted to go so many times and have never made it.

There's a coupon on their website here:

I want to fire a hand gun and not a machine gun though. :)

Yes but you don't realise that until you go to the show.

The Ka were something like $165 each all the round the front & up the centre. We haggled at the MGM box office & the guy sold us military disounted tickets which were in middle but half way - paid $165 all in for both of us.

Looking at it I would've been gutted if I got front row - no offence!!

My big show mistake was buying Mamma Mia tix from Mandalay Bay. Got front row centre, superb seats I must admit, $110 each. Then I discovered Travelzoo 2 nights later - same tix $55 - but you learn but to be honest it was worth it!!

When we go back to Vegas we'll try to get tickets for LOVE then.

    Thanks

Totally agree. We booked Love about 20 minutes after tickets went on sale for the first time (we saw it when it was in previews)...we were offered front row so assumed they would be the 'best' seats available...so very not true...one of the reasons we will call to book our seats next time so we can be more specific about what we want.

Most of the carpets have high nylon content-solution is to wear shoes not trainers :) I'm the same static just loves me !!
Nothing helps, not shoes, trainers, flip-flops, bare feet. It's all to do with the low air pressure and dry air. Even the locals suffer from it, they just live with it(wish I could) ouchhhhh!!!
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Sorry to hear that, I can understand why you or your mum wouldnt want to be down that end. It can happen anywhere though like you said.
