Not sure about the dead birds in the pool...BUT

I get shocked all the time..on door handles on touch screens on the slots and every time I get out of the car. Does everyone else?

Most of the carpets have high nylon content-solution is to wear shoes not trainers :) I'm the same static just loves me !!

Hi got my tickets booked for virgin flight 12th June - 19th June, hoping the virgin flight isnt as bad as people are saying on here!!! Anyway, I want to stay on the strip but cant afford the good places for the wkend, so Im looking for somewhere cheap for the thurs 12th-sat 14th - Sahara has come up, is this any good??

I haven't stayed in the rooms but the casino is OK. I don't really like it that far north though, myself...but the monorail runs to Sahara. What's the rate for the 3 nights?

My husband does. Every single time and quite badly. We solved it (mostly) by putting some dryer sheets in our case...if he has one in his pocket it stops the static (mostly)...plus he smells like clean laundry all day. :)

    Hiya photome,

Every time!!! The funniest is when me and my other half are walking along and I touch him - I give him a static shock everytime - he says its the build up of static electricity that my shoes make against the carpet..... not sure if hes right or not, but its funny - but when its really bad it hurts me too!

Aahh, the joys of Vegas :) Would never complain though.
    Steff ;)

Another option rather than going by bus if there is more than one person that can drive its actually as cheap to rent a car

    $30-60 to rent car
    $80 in fuel (its ~$3.50 a gallon)
then plus breakfast + lunch and dinner

its about 3.5 hours drive to the south rim so probably a bit much for one person to do on their own

Thanks for the advice. But we really don't want to drive. We will be doing this 1/2 days after flying to the US and I am sure the jetlag won't be cured by then, so having someone else drive and take care of the itineray will be nice.

I see there are not many fans of the bus tours...

A quick search on Trip Advisor shows that Look Tours haven't got a very good reputation, Grand-Canyon Adventures doesn't look too good either I'm afraid.

Doesn't really help I know, I'm not sure about the plane either but i'm hoping i'll be okay...

Thanks for all your storys about static....It hurts me as well, to the point I open doors by pushing on the glass or waiting for someone to pull them open. I am scared to touch the slots. Why is it so bad in the car though even after being in it a while. Does the static from shoes/carpet really last that long?

is it really? I've seen reports ranging from 4-6 hours to the South Rim...so I have no idea anymore what to expect and am assuming 6 to be safe. :)

Took me about 6 hours driving

I stayed there about 6 years ago, If the price is right then it is OK. It is on a par with the Strat. You may want to look at the IP if you def want to stay on strip or the Orleans if you dont (that would be my choice)

    Trets.

Have you done anything about your flight home/ I am waiting for a response from MR S Ridgway. I havent mentioned this site (was tempted) If I dont get a resolution that will be my next step, but maybe we should get together on it or involve Martin/watchdog etc.

Why should we put up with being treated like animals. It seems that with the introduction of PE they have forgotten about us in the back
