Interesting - the reports I'd read indicated that the video roulette earned points at the slot machine rate $3/per point and not the video poker rate of $9/per point.

I wonder if they have changed this recently?

Dont know if it has changed, but i was definitely not getting points for $3 in.

Wow, you're my type of gambler!! $1 each bet!! That's exactly what I was thinking of trying out. :p This is how high roll I am.
But now comes a total newbie question: how come you lost $18 using that strategy?

Also, newbie question again: 1- is it possible to track how many points you have accrued? Is there a machine to check this?
2- Is the player's card linked to your credit card? How do you pay?

Because i wasnt covering the zero, so each time it came in I lost $2.

Players card is inserted in the nachine and the points are shown on the machine next to the card...BUT if you really are a low roller the Wynn buffet is worth getting but you are not going to get much if anything any where else.

I dont play slots much, I play card or roullette at about $20 a spin/hand and that isnt really enough to get rated at the tables

    Hi,
This is my first post, really useful thread by the way! Myself and 2 mates are looking to go to Vegas in June, but to keep costs down we thought we're better off getting 1 room for all 3 of us (MGM hopefully). But when looking at room booking, it only has 2 queen beds, is it possible to get a roll out or sofa bed as well? I'm told it is but not guaranteed, what are the odds do you think? And does the hotel charge?

    Thanks

Most hotels will give you a rollaway..but depending on the hotel there may not be much room if you already have 2 queens. I wouldnt like to be the odd one out who gets to sleep on the roll away with the other 2 in big comfy beds :D . Most hotels make a charge for a third person in the room which would prob cover the cost of the rollaway.

cant 2 of you share a bed and only book for 2 per room thus saving the third person charge

Just realised you say the MGM....I wouldnd stay there again. The first time I stayed there was 9 years ago and we had to pay extra to get a non smoking room. Stayed there again last month and they didnt have any 2 queen rooms only king bed (they never gtee type of room). Spoke to a family of four with two 16/17 year olds and they were given a king bed and two rollaways.
It is also to big!!.I had forgotten how big it was..

Thanks! The best deal i've found so far is through lastminute.com, so can't get away with only paying for 2 as its hotel&flights (amazed it's cheaper to go through them than book the hotel directly). Sharing a bed wont be a major issue, would just make life easier with a roll out...

Sorry, I was confusing rapid with video, didn't realise myself there was a difference. We never tried signing up again as tried this with several casinos and they always had our details. TBH don't think I will be going back to Wynn, to pretenscious for me, they don't even comp you a drink at the bar tops now. Was playing VP at $5 per hand, and had to buy my Miller lite, I kid you not!!!
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

I have a pair of old Net 10 phones i used last year in Florida. I am going to vegas in two weeks time. Is the coverage in Vegas any good? If so i think i will get call time so we can speak to each other if we get lost and call home.
What is the mosquitoe situation like this time of year? Do we need to worry about it.

    Many thanks

sorry i don't know what a net 10 phone is but i have never had a problem getting a mobile signal. or a problem with the dreaded mozzies, i don't think i have even seen one ine Vegas.
Thanks for the advise!! But I did not explain myself clearly. I will definitely play a maximum of $10 a day, not more!!
I don't even have the gamble bug... I must be one of the more risk averse persons I know. But I do love a good bargain!! And I am willing to sign up for offers if that means getting some freebies!! And as I mentioned I am not even looking for free stays, just vouchers, coupons and the occasional towel with the hotel logo (which I believe someone somewhere mentioned was a freebie for signing up to the flamingo's card). :D

i don't mean to smile , cause i know you haven't been before , but $10 a day gambled is going to earn you sweet FA . i think i gambled maybe $100 on my harrahs card , the comps for which were automatically deducted off my final bill....a whopping 77c :p:D .

most players clubs are worth signing up for. you certainly did used to get a free stadium blanket for signing up with Harrahs Total rewards . you also get very cheap tickets to the excellent Mac King comedy show, as well as a discount on a buffet. most other players cards give you free slot play ect. Hooters was still giving away free tickets to Bobby Slaton last i heard.

best other way to get most for you money is coupons with either the American casino guide mentioned earlier , or if you will get your money's worth joning Las Vegas Advisor and picking up the Book of values .

by the way who ever asked Gregory Popovich's animal theater is very humane , pretty good , and was easily found for half price last week.1810.jpg
    Hi guys,

I'm just looking for a bit of advice abut flights from Manchester to Vegas.

Looking at all sorts of different dates etc. but have prices for BMI & FlyThomas Cook travelling early March 2009.

BMI is £980 (through Ebookers) for 2 us against £894 for FlyThomasCook.

According to BMI site luggage allowance is 2 pieces up to 46kg & seat pitch is 32inches.

FlyThomas Cook is 20kg as I've based it on us paying the extra (a joke!!) and according to the new brochures, the seat pitch is now 33inches.

Are these good prices for the time of year?
How do BMI compare with TC/My Travel?

We flew with MT a few weeks back & although cramped it was better than we expected but we paid £720 all in for both of us, paying extra for 20kg baggage, seating together & choice of seats.

    Any opinions/experiences would be welcome.

    Thanks again!!

personally the way i,m feeling about virgin right now , i would say £500 for BMI is reasonable , but they are very unpredictable and may drop a bit lower . if ou look back to tale end months of last yeras thread ( find link on page 1) there was a sale on late in the year i believe.

MY TRAVEL / THOMAS COOK flights

    leaving on

    30/4/08 7 nights = £320 14 nights = £320

    7/5/08 7 nights = £400 14 nights =£400

    14/5/08 7 nights = £375 14 nights =£ no results returned .

    21/5/08 7 nights = £455 14 nights =£ ??? broken again tsk ... check my travel if your intrested.
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:

(several royal flushes for example on a video poker machine could mean it wont pay out another cent for several days),

That's wrong I'm afraid. Video poker is not fixed odds (like slots) they are totally random like playing a shoe of blackjack, it mimics a real pack of cards. If it has just paid out a royal flush it is just as likely to pay one the next hand or the hand after that.

That offer at the Wynn is good. If it is full pay Jacks or Better video poker then the payout is 99.54% with perfect strategy so a house edge of 0.46%. That means that on $450 of playthrough you get two buffets for an average cost of $2.07. Depending upon the paytable, it would be better therefore to play video poker than roulette. It's not hard to learn video poker and it's fun too.
