    Hi guys,

I'm just looking for a bit of advice abut flights from Manchester to Vegas.

Looking at all sorts of different dates etc. but have prices for BMI & FlyThomas Cook travelling early March 2009.

BMI is £980 (through Ebookers) for 2 us against £894 for FlyThomasCook.

According to BMI site luggage allowance is 2 pieces up to 46kg & seat pitch is 32inches.

FlyThomas Cook is 20kg as I've based it on us paying the extra (a joke!!) and according to the new brochures, the seat pitch is now 33inches.

Are these good prices for the time of year?
How do BMI compare with TC/My Travel?

We flew with MT a few weeks back & although cramped it was better than we expected but we paid £720 all in for both of us, paying extra for 20kg baggage, seating together & choice of seats.

    Any opinions/experiences would be welcome.

    Thanks again!!

You need to do it the other way around. you are on a night flight back and try sleeping upright for the duration and your a*** will feel like it's on fire.
you can upgrade at check in, cost is £275
was hoping to upgrade, on speaking to CS the other day though they said there were only 40% left...

we were going to do twilight checkin but not till around 4pm / 5pm - do you think there may still be some left then?

really want PE :( i'm too tall for plane seats :(

Have just sent my second letter to Steve Ridgway.

Most uncomfortable flight I have ever had..Vegas back to gatwick
  • Last Time I Flew Virgin Had A Look Round Econ And They Were Packed In Like Sardines.virgin Are Only Ok If Travelling In Prem Econ Or Upper Class.even Then They Still Use Old 747s And Have No Intention Of Upgrading.
In June We Are Trying Ba,usually Use Bmi, In Prem Econ To Phoenix. Then Just An Hours Flight To Las.by All Accounts A Lot Easier To Transit Than Lax Which Sounds Like A Zoo.

there is a site that you can check plane loads, so you can get a good idea if there will be any left at check in, maybe someone can advise what site it is. I find it odd that they have already sold 60% of Prem almost a year before the flight, I have never had any trouble upgrading on the day. A couple of times I had to arrive at the airport a 5am on the day of the flight as that is when they release the few remaining seats.
I bet you that VS will have a twice daily flight to LAS by then anyway. (but don't quote me) Remember it was only begining of last year they were only running 3 times a week
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

    Trets,

Welcome back, we're doing the same thing as you but in reverse, so at least we get the bad flight out of the way on the way there, we've also got the twin seats near the back so hopefully we'll be okay. I was booked on Maxjet  but that hit the dust.

When I flew to Chicago last year I flew out on one with the new in flight entertainment but flew back with the old one. What a difference!!

Would like to hear what you thought of David Copperfield, i'm booked to see him on the 25th May, a lot of people on Trip Advisor thought he looked bored.

Hope you get over the jet lag quickly!!

    Stomeman,

I think there already is a twice daily flight to LA, there was certainly two choices of flights when we booked to come home on the 1st June.

    NVH,
Just remembered you can not book Prem Econ. upgrades until the day of travel, so twilight will not help you there.
