I think that it depends on the person really - we usually buy the ACG and sometimes the Las Vegas Advisor membership with the Pockebook of Values. We bought both this year as we will be in Vegas 3x during the year.

Maybe check the list of coupons to see how much value they would have for you?

    Morning all,
I heard about this American Casino Guide a couple of months ago and after viewing the list of coupons online thought it would be well worth the £7.50 (I think it was) from Amazon.

Ive had the book for a while now and its great! Just using three or four of the coupons would EASILY pay for itself but there is also loads of handy info in it all about the casino numbers, buffet times and prices and a guide to ALL casino games (its refreshed my memory on how to play the beautiful game of Craps!) I would definately recommend getting this book. I am even thinking of getting another so both me and my other half have one. We will be staying at the Orleans on part of our trip and definately visiting the Gold Coast and there are a few good vouchers for these places.

We also want to see Legends in Concert and to clarify for niceday999 and ruthy - It is 2 for 1 on the tickets using the voucher and I think the price is $49.95? So it is worth it I think.

Thanks ferf for clarifying how to use the 2 for 1 room vouchers - I wasnt sure how that worked! I presume its the same for booking the Legends in Concert online - or would you wait to book once there? I am going to settle back and drink my tea and read your trip report now I think - Im sure it will be very enjoyable.

just received an email from Venetian advertising suites from $139 per night - weekdays

    http://www.venetian.com/EVO0408.aspx?&ATTR=IMAGE

Thanks for this Pennylane (and blindman) - if it wasnt non-refundable and pay up front I would book this is a second! Those suites look gorgeous! I am planning on spending our last five nights in a "posh" hotel and was only considering either Bellagio or Wynn, but after seeing the Venetian/Palazzo rooms they are definately only my list!! Whether I get a good deal or not remains to be seen...
    Thanks for the post.

if anyone is interested (also bored and has quite a lot of time to spare) I did post our trip report over at Open Vegas.

    http://www.openvegas.com/vegas/forums/showthread.php?t=50684

It is really long and rambly...but that's the only way I can do things!

    Hi ferf,
Excellent trip report - Lots of useful tips. Im gonna look into this restaurant.com too I think.

As for 9 nights being too long - my two trips have been 6 nights and 14 nights and I definately thought that 6 nights was far too short. Although, I thought that 14 nights was too short and nearly cried when I had to come home. I am a planner too and I can totally appreciate your view that you feel you have loads of time to do everything then time creeps up and you cant get it all done! We still have masses to do which is why Im so excited to be going back soon. I really hope I never get tired of going there!
Isnt Peppermills just amazing for the size of the portions - I still cant get over the size of the cobb salad that I ordered - of course, I couldnt finish it!!

  • Hi

I seem to have planned the Las Vegas part of our SF-LV-SF road trip on what looks to be the most expensive Mon-Wed in October. I've been checking the deals on Fatwallet and the 13-16th of Oct always miss any promotional rate.
I've checked for any conferences and there's 2 big Expo's starting around the 15th with a total of 15000 people expected.. should I book now or hang on for a better deal?

I'm afraid that those aren't big by Vegas standards and wouldn't impact room rates unless perhaps they are based at the hotels you are looking at...I think you would need at least 30,000 to see a significant impact on room rates - there must be something else going on that time.

what that would be I'm really not sure...but if you book something now direct with the hotel you are most interested in, you can still keep an eye out for deals closer to the time...just be sure it's not a non-refundable offer which a few are - most aren't.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

I do really think that restaurant.com is great if you wait for the 50% (and 60%) off codes...if you sign up on their website they will email you with the codes each month. A $25 certificate for $4 or $5 is a pretty good deal! Even for $10 it's not bad...but I'm too cheap to pay full price for the certificates. :)

And Peppermill is ridiculous with their portion sizes..I am not complaining, but I always eat too much. :)
