MayI've had good success with the $20 trick, but not at the IP where I've tried it twice and failed twice. However one time I didn't try it they upgraded us from a standard room to a deluxe room.
We've stayed at PH 4 times. The first time I paid for a fountain view room as it was important that I got it. The second time I was upgraded from a deluxe room to a fountain view. We were actually staying there 5 days one week and 4 days the following week. The clerk very kindly gave us a fountain view room and when he saw we were coming back the following week, upgraded us for that as well so we got 9 nights for $20!
Last time we were upgraded to a remodelled resort room with a fountain view which was excellent.
It also worked at the Bellagio and we got a lake view room for the price of a standard deluxe room with no view.
I will be trying it again at the MGM in 10 days time hoping for a suite and also at the Palazzo, hoping for a strip view room. If I don't get them I'm not in the least bothered as I always like the rooms in Vegas.
As for the American Casino Guide, I usually get one every year, but there are a lot less coupons I would find useful this year so I haven't bothered. They have taken out the Hilton 2 for 1 buffet which was really good and included unlimited wine and beer. At $16.99 for dinner I would pay full price for it.0 -

Agree with you Luci, there is alot less in it this year, my fav. was the six pack at the Hard Rock, we used to go in there and use the match play and slots credits and always came out in profit. Slso there is no longer 241 buffets at Red Rock, IMHO the best buffet in Vegas, but still enough free stuff to be worth it.
Niceday, be sure to go to Ellis Island and sign up for the players card, that gives you extra discount, then use the coupons in the ACG to get your free 4 cocktails, and use the 241 at the BBQ, swear to god, the biggest meal I have ever had put in front of me, and the bill for 2 of us????? $7!!!The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
Quick question concerning flights: Anyone know the cheapest price I can expect in July August from London to LAS Las Vegas?
What are the best airlines to do this trip? By this I mean comfier onboard, etc, but not more expensive (this is MSE after all!!).
In case any of you know (and before I open another thread unecessarily), the same question concerning London - Los Angeles: cheapest fare to expect and best airline.
Now concerning a short first-time trip to LasVegas (as a detour from LA where I am attending a conference): I'm thinking of something along the lines of 3 nights in Vegas:
Day 1: flight from LA to Las vegas, Cirque du Soleil show
Day 2: trip to the Grand Canyon by bus http://www.looktours.com/bus1.html
Day 3: LV
Day 4: return to LA
What do you think?
Thanks in advance for any advice.0 -
SeptemberWe booked our flights today! AA had gone up to £1470 so we've ended up with Continental for £1050 from Belfast. We had planned on doing the AA platinum challenge but we waited too long..
Im excited now, roll on August/September!!!Undefeated Wii Fit ski jump champion!

MayDON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!! You will get half price tickets to Legends at Tix4Tonight. If you get a $2 off the service charge coupon from the Tix4Tonight website you should be $61 total for 2 people.
All the ACG coupon will save you is $2.00 pp service charge.
We will be seeing Legends for the umpteenth time a week on Friday. Have already checked www.legendsinconcert.com to see who will be on that night. Jay Leno was a scream last time we saw him.0 -
SeptemberPanda, thanks for that previous link about PH, we are going tomorrow and booked Caesars on a really cheap rate (sub $1000) but really wanted PH(at the time, PH was much more expensive) then followed your link and we could have stayed there cheaper than the CP deal, but we needed to give 3 days notice to cancel:mad: Will keep it bookmarked though.

Aawww, that's a shame. I can't wait to stay in PH, it's always just been a tiny bit too expensive or we could have a suite somewhere else for the price of a room. I've found hotelscomparison great for finding Vegas deals, in case anyone's interested... :jUndefeated Wii Fit ski jump champion!
