I just looked on find-rooms.com and found a PH deal for £190 for the 4 nights. Considering i phoned them earlier and they quoted me $740, i've gone ahead and booked it!

Im delighted!!! :D PH, here i come..... :rotfl:

We've had brilliant deals at the PH for the last 3 years - $59, $69 and $79.

There has been nothing like that at all this year as I've been monitoring prices on Fat Wallet. The last offer we got was for last November booked about 3 months ahead of arrival.

The offers seemed to stop as soon as they had finished remodelling the hotel.

There were great deals in December, we were going to stay there over christmas but ended up in Mandalay Bay. Couldn't find anything halfway decent for this trip, but im more than happy with the deal i got. :D

    Airline network say this:
    Fully Inclusive including:
Unlimited Mileage Loss Damage Waiver Local & State Taxes Homeland Security Fees Customer Facility Charges Supplemental Liability Ins. Airport Surcharge Uninsured Motorist Protection Concession Recoupment Fee Tourism Com. Assessment Fee

Are there likely to be any more charges when we get the car? I thought that covered them all...

That does cover them all - I normally book through the US dollar site which doesn't include the loss damage waiver, supplemental liability insurance, uninsured motorist protection which are optional charges and usually double the cost of just the rental car, airport fee, taxes, etc. But I have rental car coverage another way - so for those who don't and aren't interested in the risk then the all-inclusive deals are the way to go.

I use priceline a LOT but the one place I don't use it for is Vegas as the deals are better elsewhere. This summer most 4* mid strip bids will net the Monte Carlo-which although a nice hotel has major building work right next to it (not a problem in itself as there's always building *somewhere* on the strip but) this work is impacting the pool area.
However I found the MGM Grand for July and August last week for $89 including a $25 meal credit which I personally think is a better deal.

I also think that if you gamble at all and join the players club for the casino/hotel you are staying at you can often get a better deal than priceline for your current trip and future trips...sometimes you can qualify for free rooms for not a huge amount of play, relatively speaking...some casinos use free and reduced rate rooms to lure people back when they haven't played much at all.

Between that and the deals available booking direct it's always seemed the better option for us.

    Hi all

My dd and her boyfriend flew to LV yesterday, they're staying at The Signature, on checking in they were told that they had to pay a supplement of $15 per room per night for use of the gym etc.. whether they used the facilities or not!! they're staying for 16 nights and when they said that they hadn't been expecting this charge the check in lady gave them the first 8 days free. It seems odd that it didn't state this in the brochure if the payment is mandatory. They probably would have wanted to use the gym anyway but I wondered if anyone else had come across this, just don't like to think of them being stitched up.

They are over the moon with the suite, telly in the bathroom etc :D Makes me want to go back, but I'll be trying the book independently route this time. They spent a small fortune.

    Thanks

    Chris

Brochure????? Assuming it was some as a package with some travle agent then their gripe should be with them rather than the hotel. Certainly every time we have booked direct with the hotel the resort charge has been pretty visible ......you do get unlimited internet access along with the gym.......

They booked the whole package with Virgin.
They probably would have opted to use the facilities anyway. I just thought it was strange that they had to pay this supplement whether they were going to use the gym etc .. or not

Glad PH worked out for you Panda
I asked for "Player rate" at the already good value Orleans and got 20% off my whole stay. Was quite surprised as I didn't ask until my last day. Always worth having a set of cards for the different hotels :)
As for resort fees-they are a fact of life at all Vegas hotels (and most resort type hotels all over the US) I'm surprised Virgin don't mention it somewhere in their brochure.
