Valli said:i sodding hate giving out raffle prizes...Well there's definitely a story to that post, and I for one am rather curious about it.(((Hugs))) for CoG and *healing vibes* for A. I hope things are feeling a bit less stressful now.Lovely to know you're dating ASB and I hope it's going smoothly.Round, -31.5lbs is fantastic! Hugely well done.Good on you Narco for being such a lovely daughter. I bet your mother is delighted to be spending so much time in your company.Found a smartphone on a dogwalk yesterday morning that had clearly been where I found it since the night before. I've left a 'Lost ... phone this number' notice in the same place this morning but the odd thing is the person who lost it, a bloke I would think by the detritus I found around it, hasn't phoned it himself already. It'll run out of juice soon so he won't be able to if he leaves it much longer. Not sure what to do about it if I don't hear anything at all.Still working on my RoD. Have thoroughly pruned the lower drawer in my filing cabinet but am now looking at two bulging in trays and wondering if I can face even nibbling at them. So much easier to play Mahjong on the computer ....Better is good enough.7

I'm not saying I've had a rough day - but you know that cup of coffee I made for myself and I've been supping for the last 15 minutes? I've just realised it's TEA! That's right. I made it myself with a tea bag and everything. And I'd drunk half the cup before it occurred to me that it wasn't coffee. Oh my. Losing the plot or what?
Completed a little more of the application form in my lunch break - just need to find the dates of my Adult Education passes, and tell them why I'm the best person for the job.
Tried to submit my complaint to ICO and fell at the last hurdle when it said the page wasn't available and lost all the information I'd typed in. Muttley muttering at its best for a good five minutes afterwards. I'd left the email address at home....so that's a job for tomorrow.
Heard someone fiddling at the office door. So I looked to see what they were doing. Putting up a new list of 'inmates'. Apparently L is moving out and P is moving in. It would have been nice to know....but having said that L's not at work today and she didn't know it was happening either. Until I messaged her.
I've decided to apply for another job too. Not school holidays. But not NHS either. And I need to pull my CV together and get it on Indeed so I can apply that way too.
Thank you HB - still a lot more to lose but I do feel much better about myself already. And, like you, when I read Valli's post I thought 'ooo there's a story there'. Do tell Valli xx
Flying? Erm. I've unpacked my lunch bag.

Thanks for that Pigpen. We don't have a charger for this type of phone and it's locked. I loathe F'book now and struggle to get in to it but I'll have a go at it at some point to see if I can connect the owner with it.Good luck with the second application Round.Ate a frog that's been hanging around for a couple of weeks, and am mightily relieved that's done at last. Nibbled at one of the In Trays. In all honesty it's going to take quite some time to deal with them, particularly as one of them as another In Tray stashed and stacked in it, so it's actually three of the wretched things. All over-flowing too. I hope there's nothing urgent secretly rotting under it all.Better is good enough.5

we had a fun day at work (to raise much needed funds), there w as a delay in drawing the raffle so, after it was drawn i have had to go through all the tickets and send a text to get the lucky winner to claim their prize, so i have had to enter 30 or so phone numbers one at a time and text, though i did write a catch-all text message to paste. so as i’m texting some lucky winners start texting/calling me to arrange pick up (or refuse their prize, thus forcing a re-draw). so it was a laborious task…and then i’ve got to tell them when they can come in…(basically Wednesdays).
So it’s been a chore…

When I found a phone, I turned it into the police station and they were able to trace the owner through the telephone calls.8

Morning all xx
I'm up, made my bed, dressed, packed my lunch, completed Wordle (in 6!!), failed completely at Connections, eaten my breakfast and supped a brew.
I've dug out my Adult Education certificates so I can put the dates on my application form. But my Adult Ed GCSE certificates aren't in the same place - so I'll have to work out when I took them. Oh look, a certificate to say I've completed the training as a Worship Leader - no date on it. I actually don't remember doing that at all. I remember leading worship on many occasions but I didn't know I had a 'stickyfoot' saying that I could. 🤷♀️
Today I plan to ask the Admin Service Manager if I can work from home (because it's not the job that riles me, it's the twonks I work with/for) - I'm pretty certain she'll say No. But it's worth a try. Then I'll ask Head of Therapies if there's anything he can do to get me moved out of Admin and into Therapies. Away from aforementioned twonks. If not I'll focus on getting out...whilst trying to avoid frying pan/fire analogy!
Did I tell you how much make up they found under a colleague's desk when they moved her in her absence? Mascara, nail varnish, make up brush, and hair tongs!!!! This is the one that I said wasn't pulling her weight and we couldn't work out what she actually was doing!!!! I guess we now know. And the supervisor told me as if it was funny. Not when you're the one doing the carrying it isn't!!!!!
Another nail in the coffin. They're coming faster than I can pull 'em out now.
Have a good day.
Love to all.

Morning all.
Round, I have my fingers crossed for you on all counts xx
I actually got a better night's sleep so am feeling a bit more capable of getting things done today. My to-do list includes:
- declutter most of my hair (because summer's coming and I hate carrying a mop on my head)
- collect my meds from the pharmacy next door to the hairdresser
- go to the PO next door on the other side for more 50p pieces for K's 50th birthday gift (I'm wrapping them individually)
- bake another cake for Sunday, as I don't think I've got enough for 25-30 people. Yesterday was my first time ever making Genoese sponges, and they turned out very well
- cook our main meal at lunchtime
- get J the gardener to help me by moving pots and compost, so that I can plant out my beans and the last of the bedding plants. Overnight a nasty slug has taken the head of one of my 5 French beansand I shall have to plant some more before we go away - the runners are rather more resilient to slug attack. Sweep the decking and paths afterwards (apart from the dailies, this is my planned flying for the day!)
- walk Rosie
- go with DH to an organ concert in the big city this evening (a belated Christmas present from DD and DS2).
I have just been called downstairs for an "early" breakfast, so will just send posivibes to everyone for a pleasant and productive day xxx6 -

I thought the police wouldn't be interested in acting as a Lost and Found office, but your approach may very well be the easiest one.Raffles can often be lovely but it sounds as though yours was and is a bit of a nightmare Valli. I'm a bit of a fan of them because I won a very good bottle of champagne in one recently. None of that 'Oh put it back for someone else' nonsense here!I've cleared most of the In Trays. I've got about half a tray to go, and most of the work is just stuff I didn't want to do. I've also realised I haven't seen my birth certiificate for donkeys years so I've ordered another one, paid a charity a donation because it's been on my conscience that I was undercharged for something a few months ago but didn't realise it at the time, and cleared another pile of gibble in the Room of Doom. It's coming on nicely but I won't mind when this job is finished.

@Asparklierblonde thanks for the hug sand good wishes. I'll try and meet whilst your here but I cant' make any firm plans at the moment. We'll see how things are nearer the time.@ionafan an open London flymeet sounds a good idea, especially as I may have to let ASB down (although I hope not). If ASB is agreeable, why don't you agree a date with her and see who's free. If all is well here and unless A has an appointment then I expect that I can make any day. Thanks @Honey_BearI'm only skim reading the posts at the moment so sorry if I don't comment on something I ought to.A's recovery is going very well and this morning I took him to the building society to sort out something and then to Waitrose for a few bits. I asked him if he wanted to go to the park as it was a nice day but he said he'd had enough so we went home. I can't remember if I've already said this but I got hold of social services and they are going to ring him in the next few days to do a care needs assessment. I meet most of his care needs (that he can't meet himself) but there are one or two things that we could do with advice on, e.g. the bathing issue. We'll have to pay for any equipment/changes ourselves (which is fine), we just want advice. Evidently after they have done the assessment someone will come round and give us some advice (or I think that's what will happen). Consequently we spent some time this afternoon talking about what he wanted to say to the assessor about what he needs.I haven't done much flying - just the usual food prep and washing up and an couple of S&Ss in the kitchen. We also watched the Draper/Alcaraz match on the BBC, which was excellent. The last couple of days I've been drinking some alcohol-free sparkling wine. It's ok but I'm not sure I'd get it again. I'm not really a beer drinker but the alcohol free beer I buy seems indistinguishable from the real thing to me - shame the wine isn't as good. If it were I think I would be virtually teetotal. Sorry, wittering on again.6
