Morning all xx
I'm up, made my bed, dressed, packed my lunch, eaten breakfast, completed Wordle and Connections (easy peasy today and I did it in backwards order: 'hardest' line first), and I'm supping my brew.
Raising my mug to Jazee as I join her 😊
I had a lovely couple of hours having tea with L in the village pub last night. I do miss her....she left work because she couldn't cope with the twonks any more.... she actually made going to work bearable for me. Sigh.
Heyho. It was good to have a catch up. 😊 And a laugh.
I wonder what joys await me at Toxic Towers today. If there's no email from HR I'm putting in a complaint to ICO about the data breach. I was going to do it on Friday but was too busy all day to sort it.
I'll feed the birds and put out the recycling before I set off to the paid stuff.
DS called on Sunday and left with the bag of his 'stuff' I culled from the miscellaneous drawer - fer-ling
Love to all

Morning all. I didn't get to bed until 1.30 and then woke up at 7.00 and couldn't get back to sleep so am feeling pretty tired. I"ve not done much so far, just put the penultimate load of TDing on. Once I'm up and running I need to clean the bathroom and have a tidy and vac and then pop out and get the paper and some bread. I've got an Ocado order coming later but I forgot to put bread on the order.

(((Hugs))) to Narco, and well done to MrN for looking after things at home while you are giving such wonderful support to your Mum xx Everything seems to land on us at once, doesn't it?
(((Hugs))) to round too x and another for CoG might not come amiss x
I have been up for a couple of hours (but not dressed yet) and have
- drunk 2 mugs of tea and taken my tablets
- checked that I hadn't missed any card payments off my accounts after yesterday's shopping trip
- decided on sandwich fillings, and found an allegedly foolproof Mary Berry recipe for a Genoese sponge for the two-tier wedding gateau I want to make for H&F's buffet lunch on Sunday
- texted a friend to ask if she has a cool box that I can borrow for the weekend
- written DGS1's birthday card which needs to be posted today - he will be 16 on the solsticeHe'll get his present when we visit next week.
- written out shopping lists for today and Friday [ETA: CoG, I just realise3d that I hadn't put bread on my list for Friday! Thank you for reminding me]
- checked whether the GP approved my meds request yesterday - no, of course they didn't!
- given Rosie some attention.
By the sound of it, breakfast is nearly ready, so I must remember to hit Post before I go downstairs!
Have a good, or at least better, day, Flyfriends xxx8 -
CoG .. OT will come assess but they are not allowed to offer anything.. you must ask for everything you need.. even if it seems silly to ask.. small stuff like a grabby stick or adaptive cutlery, commode or stair lift, stools for the kitchen or shower. They can help with fitting a wet room which might be safer than the bath.. but they won't see a need and meet it you have to see the need yourself otherwise they might be giving you things which are not useful and wasting their limited funding.. go around your house and look at the tasks A does and anything which can make those things easier for him.

CofG my experience with the local stroke team and Intermediate Care Support team has been really good, they have suggested all sorts of equipment - some provided, some I had to buy (like noticing the anti-slip mat in Mum's shower was a small size which gave her a gap to step over when heading for the zimmer outside the shower - they recommended I bought a bigger one and it was like magic, suddenly she was more confident). The ICS Therapy Assistants (currently 3 x per day) vary from being ultra-health and safety obsessed to rather more practical (one exclaimed in horror when I said Mum has been into the garden and up the pavement in her zimmer; another happily walked with her up the road). Thursday the physio is coming to assess her mobility and see if she is ready for a rollator (cue walking in front with a red flag as I'm sure she will break speed limits in her enthusiasm to rush around).
Today was fairly busy for both of us, mentally and physically.
- having decided we'd have a cooked breakfast, Mum did the toast and scrambled eggs with minimum input from me while I did the bacon.
- Put DW on, gradually unloaded during the day as I kept being sidetracked by other things.
- again with minimum prompting, she turned on the washing machine (my task was collecting washing, bringing it downstairs, hanging it out, bringing it in and folding/putting it away).
- Armed with the (jointly written) list, I went to L1d1, H0mebase and H0meBarga1ns. Got home and put it away while Mum and TA were delving in the freezer to choose what she'd like for dinner and whether it needed to be defrosted.
- ran round with the vacuum cleaner
- finally got through to GP after 5 failed attempts yesterday, checked they had ordered medication recommended by dermatologist last week (they had; on Sunday!!! and 5 mins after I put the phone down, the local pharmacy delivery man turned up with it). Also checked they have received info on her stroke tablets (they had and immediately ordered more - also suggesting she may need more vit D tablets). So all in all much more efficient than they usually are.
- BIL visited in the afternoon, staying for longer than I'd expected - I think just in solidarity. Cue coffee and biscuits.
- I'm just writing 'made dinner' as a summary as I'm tired now and still have to add to the joint doc DB and I are keeping each time we are resident carer.
- did half the Bible group meeting by phone.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.9
