Round.. I just don't feel I have anything productive to add.. I have a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge list of stressors at the moment which I could whinge about but I am just trying to stay afloat mentally at the moment.. no one needs me having a cuckoo nest moment. A brief run down is.. DS1 being a kn0b, DD1 being herself, C1&C2 still here they are ok but it is more stuff and people, Boog being themself, Moomin just started a new job and is tired, Harper just started crawling, Beanie has his first shoes, Spam is being difficult, Squeak has another neuro appointment and still waiting for the next bit of her ADHD assessment, Dot is dotty as ever, Pixie has outgrown everything and I cn't find long enough school skirts for September, Twinkle is being vile at the moment. My mother still has me as flavour of the month, S-Da waiting for tests to see if his bowel cncer has returned.. OH family as a collective.. and the finances are struggling with the job change.. but that will sort over the next couple of months.. and my house is a pit the bathroom still needs sorting and the kitchen has no ceiling.. So nothing major it's all just a lot in one heap.
CoG .. I'm glad A is doing well and I hope his next surgery goes as smoothly (((hugs))) That must have been scary. My FIL had a HA last year.. he just felt a bit out of breath and dizzy.. he didn't go to hospital for 12 hours so it was too late for him to have any fixes.
DW been on, I fed the cats, made 3 cuppas and cleaned up cat splurk.. I am not getting ready to go out for lunch with my mother.. our hayfever and my wibbly tum.

Oodles of GWS wishes to A - and well done to you, CoG, for your quick thinking and prompt action. Please take things easy for the next week or two, both of you. Have a (((hug))) each from me.
Today I got up early, dressed before grabbing a banana for breakfast (but not before my first cuppa), PU the WU which had been LTD overnight, S&S'd the kitchen, left DH in bed, got to the local "outpatients only" horse piddle in time for a blood test at 8.25, went on up the hill to W's school to watch her sports day, carried on to Merry Hell to do some shopping, bought some "significant birthday" cards for friends, food for Rosie, and a top and some lightweight trousers for myself, went round various "saver"-type stores to buy 2 packets of parrots in each to replenish my dwindling stocks and some other necessary bits and pieces, and called at the optician's on my way home to get my glasses adjusted yet again. I have also done a quick financial check (didn't spend very much except time walking round the shopping mall) and have dealt with a banking query, with a satisfactory outcome, so that's another thing off my to-do listRosie has had a good walk with her friend Liz, who was on holiday all last week - DH says they were delighted to see each other
My desk got tidied last night when I was searching for my missing blood test labels (I eventually found them where I'd put them, in my purse, but they had been pushed down behind my NT card and hard to reach). The rest of the housework will be done tomorrow when DH goes out to SW. I have other bitty jobs to do this evening.
It's now time for another cuppa, if anyone wants to join me xxx

Before DGD2 woke this morning, I did the dailies and washed out the kitchen bins. Just back from taking her home I intend to relax for the evening.Spend less now, work less later.9

Best of wishes CofG and hoping A gets well soon. Yes I know what you mean about being without your usual partner in the house, Mr N rings me each day and messages, but I do miss him.
I've got a definite list of 'cupboards of doom' to sort out with Mum as she has far to much on high shelves which she can't reach (e.g. cereal - which she has each day) and far too much on low shelves (like 4 packets of pasta). And don't even start me on the saucepan cupboard. She is quite amenable to being helped in making it all more convenient now, but I don't know where the time goes. I won't itemise, but I'm keeping up with house flying and a bit of weeding, remembering to take the right bins out and generally supervising Mum as she progresses.
For myself, after 2 frustrating days of going to the beach and being put off by enormous waves, I managed to get a swim today. It's just under 2 weeks to the sponsored swim so I'm desperate to get some more practice in although I think I'm keeping fairly fit being a carer, plus Mum's nearby beach is down a steep zig-zag which I'm managing to go up and down. British Heart Foundation emailed to tell me I was one of the top 10% fund raisers last month, which is pleasing.
I've done a couple of training webinars which were interesting and no pressure to remember anything as I won't be working! It's possible that the 2 assessments I have booked for next week will be my last time at uni. A little sad, but I'm glad I will be doing them - at one stage with Mum I wondered if I had actually already served my last day at work without realising it.
I'm not getting enough drum practice done, which is a shame, but never mind. I'm trying not to think of money as I pay my drumming lessons a term in advance and have missed 3 or 4; ditto the gym i pay monthly. Still it's all going the right way here. Mr N seems to be coping admirably (of course) at home and he's posted me more contact lenses, copied and sent the wall calendar for the next few weeks in case I didn't have anything on my electronic system. I may join our bible group tomorrow by phone.
Keep well and happy everyone.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.10 -
Thanks for everyone's good wishes. It's been a busy day. A had an appointment at the GP (arranged before the HA) to have his lipids and his measles antibodies checked as there are often outbreaks nowadays and I wasn't sure if he was too old to have been vaccinated. He'd only just had his lipids done in hospital but still needed to have the measles antibody test and as he felt up to going out we thought he might as well still have the lipids done. He struggled a bit on the stairs when we came home but managed it. In the afternoon the GP rang at our request to discuss the ongoing management of his post-HA care. She asked him to come in and see her on Weds afternoon before her clinic starts to discuss it, take his BP and give him the results of his blood tests. She suggested we contact social services to ask the community occupation health person to supply a bath board (as recommended by his physiotherapist) and perhaps do an assessment in case there are any other aids or adaptations they can offer. All that took quite a long time but I did manage quite a bit of flying too. I stripped the bed and washed and dried the bedding and put fresh bedding on. I did two lots of clothes washing and some drying. I S&S in the kitchen and emptied the kitchen bin and took the rubbish and a bag of recycling down to the bins. A friend and her son are visiting A tomorrow afternoon so I made a lemon drizzle cake and after supper I rang my friend who has been caring for her father for the last three years as sadly he died at the weekend and naturally she is very upset. After that I put out A's breakfast things and two pots with his pills and typed notes with instructions on when and how to take them as he will do that early, before I'm up.I'm still doing TDing but will need to go to bed fairly soon as I'm whacked.8

Morning all.
It does seem a lot of you are caring for others at the moment. DH has been caring for his mum but she's independent again now although not out of the woods at 90 so I'm trying to arrange some time for us together in August.
Just having first cuppa. Bedding is in the washing machine. Unfortunately rain is forecast again so airers will be in use.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.10
