Do you mean when is a request for >£20k ever urgent?

KR - Still unable to close and transfer existing account into new account, close process only allows payment to nominated account. I have sent message requesting.

Not for me, though I also have a Natwest bank current account which I logged into/out before doing the application - full ID requested by Saga. Will do ID verification when next at home where my passport photo ID is stored (you have 30 days to complete)

Just gone to apply for Saga account. Up popped the "we need photo ID warning". I don't have the photo ID they specify, but I carried on. Put in all the details, got a message, "we're checking your details", couple of minutes later, account open! My only account with NatWest is a Credit Card (one of the former Sainsbury's Bank Nectar Cards). I have had Saga car insurance in the past but over five years ago (I'm still on their mailing list for insurance reminders though). Clearly there was enough info held somewhere to verify me, as I really expected to be refused....

Please don't be complacent.Photo ID might be required at a later stage, e.g. when you want to withdraw funds, or when they periodically and randomly perform ID checks. You would be well advised to get yourself government issued ID.

Very wise advice. Quite a few years ago my wife had a SIPP that she wanted to cash in uunder the then new pension rules. They sold the shares first and asked for ID that my wife couldn't provide. They then told her that without ID they would purchase the shares back pending the ID.

any chance we'll get easy access savings around 5%? For some reason all the 1 yr fixes are paid annually, which isnt great when there is a risk of going over the PSA next year, rather than split it across this tax year.

Revolut (< £25k) and Lemfi already pay 5.00% on their Easy Access accounts.

Santander pay 6% on their Edge Saver (on balances up to £4k)
Cahoot pays 5% on their Sunny Day Saver (on an account balance up to £3k). I'll say no more about that. IYKYK. If you don't, read this thread.
Have you considered playing the Regular Saver game? Pick carefully as only some will pay interest monthly.
