I had the same problem (See my post 17th July 2026)
"My only complaint is that after opening the account, the account number
and sort code was not immediately indicated. The only way I could find
it was via the 'make a deposit' process."You would have thought this important vital piece of information would be displayed when you login and visit your account page.
What happens if you have more than one account?
Saga is not the only organisation that does this. I found the same problem with The Marsden BS. They display a 10 digit number on the web page but it doesn't tell you if it is the account number. After digging around I discovered that the actual account number (to be used for paying in) is the last 8 digits. The 2 digits prefix is some undocumented Marsden account ID.
Years ago companies use to employ focus groups to test that processes are fit for purpose before they are rolled out. These days they don't seem to bother. Instead they cobble something together and wait for customers to complain.

It's not the smartest user interface design - but mountain, mole hill.

Well I for one get annoyed and fed up with it. It's a similar story when it comes to websites that don't work with browsers that block tracking cookies or ads from external domains. Many companies don't bother to test their websites. If it works with Google Chrome then they assume it's ok.

I know I made a mistake on my 1'st application and it was refused.
I know I didn't make a mistake on my 2'nd and it was refused.
for reference, never had an application refused before and I am a natwest customer.

Shameless promotion! 😉

Surely better to phone to explain and correct the mistake rather than putting in another application (which might lead them to suspect fraud.)

For anyone who might need to withdraw more than the £20k max daily limit from Saga easy access, was told that the option to call up to request a larger amount doesn’t necessarily get implemented straight away. Depends on workload as has to go through couple of different teams for checks and can take 1-2 days to action depending on how urgent the request is.

When is a request for >£20k anything other than 'very urgent'…
