That's right. It's in key facts "After the term ends, we’ll transfer your money and interest into a cahoot Savings Account".friolento said:t1redmonkey said:
Pleasantly surprised that they chose to not reduce the existing issue and that it's still at 5.2%.Bridlington1 said:
Very nice indeed - but IIRC, the rate only lasts for 12 months from account opening. I have diaried mine for expiry sometime in Jan 250 -

Rates increasing from today.
Current ratesGross % AER % 4.67 4.77 Rates from 03 September 2024 Gross % AER % 4.71 4.81
A seemingly rare case these days of an EA provider increasing their rate.1 -

I had the same email as @SaveTheEuro from HTB today, I've got Issue 15.EthicsGradient said:
I received the email on 14th Aug, saying the reduction will happen on 16th Sept. Depends on when you opened the account, perhaps?SaveTheEuro said:This from Hampshire Trust Bank:“We recently decreased the rate on our Easy Access Account for new customers to 4.65% AER gross variable. As an existing customer, we will keep your current rate of 4.90% AER gross variable until 3 October. After this date, the rate on your account will be reduced to 4.65% AER gross variable.”

Reminds me of H&R decreasing their RS rate when all other providers were increasing. There are always some odd ones.Bridlington1 said:

Does anywhere compare the time differing institutions take to transfer money back to you?
i am looking for a reasonable (not necessarily top) rate instant savings account that will give me money back pretty quickly (so excludes Oxbury and Plum)
surely someone has done the analysis of how long this takes?
Many thanks0 -
Cahoot use Faster Payments which are pretty much instant both ways. Yes, this has been discussed and others that are fairly instant include Tandem, Chip, Marcus, Zopa, Atom, Investec and any big Bank………not all these I’ve mentioned necessarily have good rates. If you want easy and instant access Cahoot is about the best at present.alrk said:Does anywhere compare the time differing institutions take to transfer money back to you?

Not aware of any such analysis but as a general rule any easy access account from a "clearing" bank will offer pretty much instantaneous withdrawals (eg Santander's Edge Saver, Ulster's Loyalty, Cahoot Sunny Day).alrk said:Does anywhere compare the time differing institutions take to transfer money back to you?

Someone on the forum was producing a very useful table comparing ‘Instant’ access savings accounts. I’m not sure if it’s still being maintained.alrk said:Does anywhere compare the time differing institutions take to transfer money back to you?

It would have been in the previous thread but may be in this one and/or elsewhere on the forum.
I’ll do some digging when I’m able to later.1 -

I’ll do some digging when I’m able to later.it's @ircE that compiles and posts that list and was last posted at the end of July, so now out of date, but probably will be updated soon.
bear in mind, that their list assumes you only have £1 to deposit - if you have more to deposit, then there will likely be a lot more options available.3 -
Perhaps I'm in a minority of one, but I actually like the idea of not getting my money until tomorrow (or after 90 days, etc). To me it's an extra security feature whereby a scammer cannot instantly steal my life savings. What's wrong with waiting for tomorrow? Are savings decisions made like "day trading"? I keep 1 or 2k so that it's instantly available but the rest is not available until tomorrow, next month, next year, two years off, etc.alrk said:Does anywhere compare the time differing institutions take to transfer money back to you?
