It looks tempting but I'm concerned that the phrase 'instant access' is there to lure you in but really it only applies to the 2.9% account. The 5% monies may be not at all instant to access and could be frozen unexpectedly? Furthermore, the 5% rate is only until December.

An easy saver where you are penalized for accessing your money. Is that not an oxymoron?

The 5% is easy access

I think Chip's FAQs might be incorrect - it doesn't tally with the Summary PDF (and I assume the t&c)…
The Chip Easy Access Saver puts a restriction on the number of withdrawals you can make on the account in a 12 month period. Your counter starts on the opening date of the account and resets annually on the anniversary date of the account.
You are restricted to 3 withdrawals in the 12 month period. If you make more than 3 withdrawals your rate will drop to your “Reduced Easy Access Rate”. Your rate will reset to the Standard Easy Access Rate on your anniversary date and your limit of 3 withdrawals is also reset.either way, it's a mess.

I thought I'd closed my Chip account when it was only offering higher rates to new customers, but have just discovered the app is still on my phone. Opened it and found I was being offered the new EA 5.01% boosted account. Anyone else who was a previous customer found this? I'm about to transfer a large sum across but am wondering whether it's a 'gotcha' moment!

The Chip offer isn't good enough to tempt me back.
For 0.01% less, (and unlimited withdrawals), I'll stick with my Cahoot Sunny Day Savers.
It's a shame that Chip ISA rates have been poor for a while (even for 'new' customers), as that would get my attention if increased.

Not applied yet, aiming to do in next couple of days. I may use the TCB link rather than the MSE one. Will report back after.

Thanks - I just opened this and will move the money from my Limited Edition Issue 1 (4.25% AER) as soon as the new account appears on the app.
