Yes this is correct, excluding any paid interest which can happily sit in the account in addition to the £20k deposits.
Unclear if/how Tembo enforce the limit but in practise any deposits above £20k won't earn interest so aren't worth trying to pay into the account in the first place!

Hi. Were you eventually able to open a Lemfi savings account? I have the same problem, having deposited £10 in the main account over a week ago. Many thanks.

I have the max £20K in (plus 1 month interest). Deposit Limit within the app, clearly shows that I can't put any more in. As deposits are app to your banks app, would suspect it just wouldn't allow any further payment. I haven't tried though and not going to.
Regarding interest payments, it's worth noting that you only get paid the base rate of interest (paid on the 8th working day of the month, check the separate Tembo thread for payment dates for this year). Introductory rate is paid on the next payment date after 365 days. HomeSaver Bonus Rate only if you apply for mortgage through Tembo. There is a handy daily payment bit where it shows what interest is due, and what has been paid.0 -
@soulsaver - Hampshire Trust Bank (HTB) Online Easy Access Account (Issue 34) @ 4.20% (£1 min, annual interest, 30 days notice of interest rate drops).
my spreadsheet has HTB marked for withdrawals as being same day (if requested before 1pm on a working day), next working day after 1pm.

If you are going to close and transfer an existing HTB EA account you need to send a secure message.
I have also asked them why I have been given a six digit user id when the new account was opened. I used to have a nine digit user id then they changed that to a text based user id two years ago.

the last time I tried a close & transfer like that (a month or two ago I think), they closed the old account and returned it to my nominated account (as opposed to transferring it internally to the new account)… this time, I just opened the new account, funded it and then sent a secure message to close the old EA account.
what I have done in the past is to secure message them and ask them to internally upgrade one EA issue to the latest issue, but haven't done that for a while - but just in case this issue gets pulled soon, I didn't try that on this occasion.
my user id is my email address with them - somewhere in the back of my mind, I seem to recall that the first time you login with this 6 digit user id, they ask you to change your user id - though it's been at least a couple of years since I did that… I too recall originally having a 9-digit user id (on their old system).

Quick 'phone call worked for me, switched immediately.

Each time I apply for a new account with HTB they want a copy of my passport and the usual "other document" showing my address. At least all can be sent back by email as scans which makes everything a lot simpler and you get back an auto-acknowledgment. No i'm not interested in hearing on here about the insecure nature of emails.
I do wonder though if they will eventually twig that they are seeing exactly the same certified copy scan jpeg file of my passport each and every time….and as the passport has several years to run they may well be seeing the same copy/scan a lot more times!

Unsurprisingly the new 6 digit user id allocated at the end of the application process doesn't work and I've since had an email telling me my new new user id which is exactly the one I've been using the past two years since they switched away from numeric user ids.
I also asked them in the secure message why the 'close' option only allows you to request payment to your nominated account. I used 'withdraw' to be able to specify close old and transfer to new.

I did manage to open an account fairly easily in the end. I received an email soon after and have deposited/withdrawn £1 to test how the account operates. All seemed to go well, althought I'm still unsure if I will deposit any large amounts in the account. I will wait awhile to see if there are any adverse comments on here before I commit fully.
