I also opened my first cahoot account several years ago, so already had access when I took advantage of the TCB offering (last October) so it was really quick.

But I've looked back at the very first account I held with them. Looks the same process as today.

i.e. Account opened almost immediately (certainly within 2 hours on a normal banking day). Email received immediately on confirmation of opening. It says:

Online and Telephone Banking If you already have log on details , you can continue to use them. If not, we’ll send 2 letters within the next 7 days, which will be sent separately for security:

    1.

    Your temporary Password

    2.

    Your temporary Security Number

You’ll also need your Personal ID, which is  <redacted>

Letters did take about 1 week to arrive.

Iirc, you don't need the temporary password; you log in with the temporary security number and set a new one, and then away you go. (OTP via SMS)

Edit: you should have had an on-screen confirmation of account application, together with a reference number.

It also said the account is normally opened within minutes, but could take up to working 5 days.

Don't know if it's been mentioned but just seen on Spring website that their Easy Saver interest rate will change to 3.82% AER (variable) from 03/03/2026 . I have received no notification yet though.

I've just had an email notification today 17.2.26.

    3.82% AER (3.75% monthly) from 3.3.26.

I'm still languishing down at EA Issue 3 (3.95%). Very impressed with withdrawal/deposit speeds.

I guess there's no reason to assume that Issue 13 is any different? (And easy to transfer over).

    Kent Reliance

    Should be.

    1. Apply for the new account (it should open during your session)
    2. Back to your accounts (you should see the new account in the list)
    3. Click on 'move money' for the account you wish to close
    4. Click on 'transfer'
    5. Move all the money to the new account
    6. Back to your accounts
    7. Click on the 3 dots next to the old account - the last option in the dropdown is to close

I think the residual interest has to go to your nominated account. (Not sure how long it takes)

Remember, KR needs overnight to get CoP passed to your bank, so you will not be able to add anything from your nominated account until the day after opening.

I'm guessing that soon my cahoot simple saver issue 13 I opened last year via topcashback will come into play soon with it's fixed interest rate of 4.31% for a year.

Ulster Bank will drop down early March from 4.5% to 4.25%, Zopa is currently 4.45% but if as expected there is a BoE rate cut in March zopa will drop then I think by my calculations that Cahoot will be my best option until the end of October this year
