Ah. Thank you for the extra info.janusdesign said:
which Cahoot account? Simple Saver (Issue 2) that pays 5.12% AER?? Cahoot tends to give 2 months notice of rate drops on their EA savings accounts, so the current rate you're getting should remain until this time in October.ikr2 said:With Chase dropping it's rate I have a choice of moving my savings to Cahoot (my account is 5.09%). Not sure if it worth doing this now or waiting a week two to see if Cahoot cut their rate too.
I have Issue 2 and the headline rate is only for 12 months, after which it matures to a low interest savings account - I had my maturity letter yesterday telling me of it's October expiry - so any Cahoot rate changes won't affect this account for me.
Cahoot do have an Issue 4 paying 4.85% variable for a year - so it might be an idea to open that so you have another option going forward.
I have the Cahoot Sunny Day Saver. Max balance they pay interest on is £3K. Sorry, 5.09% is the monthly interest displayed on the account but that's 5.2% AER.
Assuming 60 day notice for interest rate changes then I guess it's best to use that for now.

Good point. I should pay more attention to comprehension... good job it was said without malice.Bridlington1 said:
Though I don't recall anyone mentioning Issue 1 is having its rate reduced before, only that it was going NLA and being replaced by Issue 2 at the lower rate so AFAIK this isn't duplicated info.soulsaver said:

Aldermore double access issue 1 (recently NLA) is reducing from 4.9% to 4.75% AER from 3rd Sept, making it the same rate as issue 2.
Change showing on their pdf of all current and previous rates (link downloads a pdf file): https://www.aldermore.co.uk/media/25ahbzw5/personal-savings-accounts-rates.pdf
Pdf states lots of their other accounts are dropping too.
The search facility here is wtu .. and duplicated info is better than missed info...

just opened a cahoot savings account.
i seem to remember a bit of chat about existing login/issues regarding getting online
iv'e never had an account with them but wondered what issue i may run in to? could i have had a product with another company that may now be cahoot? would my Santander login in some way be a problem/usable?
just want to be on the ball and not wait a week to then find something could have been done now.
thank you.0 -
When first set up you need to wait for a snail mail letter from them to get logged in. After that it’s all straight forward. Infrastructure and login is completel6 separate from Santander but the platform itself looks and feels very similar.pfpf said:just opened a cahoot savings account.

Same here, though I won’t be losing too much sleep over the quarter of a penny per year less that my £1 in that account will be earning!jameseonline said:Had an email this evening from Skipton telling me my Easy Access 3 M is reducing from 3.74%/3.80% to 3.49%/3.55% on 2nd September0 -
