Has anyone with non-applied "13th" payments had their monies returned yet?

    Nothing showing here.

I.e. nothing on either of the Monmouthshire accounts showing the extra £300 and nothing returned (to a Nationwide CA).

What annoys me with Chip is:-
    1. They never announced a change.
    2. It was done with immediate effect unlike Tandem who gave their customers until 15th August before change.
Yes, it's extremley annoying that both Chip & Wealthify changed their rates with immediate effect!
Thank goodness I always have back-ups, and so monies also moved with immediate effect :D
Don't know about Wealthify but both Chip accounts (ISA and non-ISA) are specifically tracker accounts. Changes in the base rate are reflected immediately in the savings rate (the gross rate). If they were to change the difference between the base rate and their savings rate they would need to give you notice.

If you don't want a tracker account don't put your money in Chip.

Looking at my list of accounts and wondering what Coventry will decide to do and whether the Cahoot Sunny will stay high. 60 Days notice on the Sunny at least!

Coventry triple access saver (online) (2) NLA is the highest rate (5.15% AER) in my easy access accounts yet to declare.

Now expanding my regular saver horizons to include 5.5% fixed to funnel some Ulster Loyalty savings into.

Ulster Loyalty interest is paid on 1 Jan annually, so might have some head room in savings allowance this tax year if I end up moving that elsewhere. But got until mid October to see how the dust settles.

Thanks to all for the updates, and for highlighting a couple of speculation accounts last month that might now become competitive.
I too am awaiting Coventry news [as I'm sure many others are] I have a couple of decent paying accounts with them and also their regular saver which is variable. I have found in the past they are quite slow making changes. Mind you, that might be only when the changes are increases and not decreases. I've got everything crossed that its not too painful.
  • I messaged Saffron BS about their rates changes to NLA accounts & older issues and the reply I got this morning was..
All variable savings accounts will see their rate reduced on 30th August. You will receive letters or emails of this affect by 14th August to give you adequate notice of the change.
I assume they'll add drop by 0.25%, but would have been good to know today rather than wait for an email.

don't forget the Sunny account is only for 12 months, so depending on when you opened it, a rate change may have little impact - for me, it matures/expires in November, so a interest rate drop would have a minimal effect for me... I suspect they would just NLA Issue 1 and release a reduced Issue 2.

Yes. I have their ESaver20 account which is currently 4.8%. I found a leaflet online listing all their changes from the end of August but can't find the link now. The ESaver20 drops by 2.5% as do most other NLA accounts if I remember rightly

Just found it. I searched in Google for

saffron building society variable savings rate guide august 2024

It comes up as a pdf file
