I was looking at my Santander Edge saver and it says the interest rate is 4.5%. When did that drop from 6
1.50% AER is a bonus rate for the first 12 months from opening, this might explain 4.5%.  Not sure where you see it, both of my Edge Savers are showing 6%.
    That’s it. I’ve had it 12 months
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

You should be able to close it and then open the same Edge Saver account at 6%.

7% is the old rate (no longer available for new applications), the new rate is 6%.

    Is that an AER rate?

EDIT - found that it does state that it is AER.

They were bound to drop it. They only had it high to compete as the top ISA on The Martin Lewis show.
