It is 4.86% in my spreadsheet. I opened it on 16th Oct and didn't get any notifications of rate changes.Bridlington1 said:@soulsaver

Looks like you opened it on the last day at that rate:allegro120 said:

Sorry to be a bit of a pooper - as 4.61% isn't in their AER history, it looks like the 4.61% was a Chetwood typo stating the gross rather than the AER...Bridlington1 said:@soulsaver

It also says the account was issued today:soulsaver said:

Moreover a summary box showing an AER rate of 4.61% still exists on their website:

And it doesn't say 4.61% was issued on 23/11. It doesn't make a lot of difference how it got here, it now is what it is.Bridlington1 said:

The 4.61% rate had been around for at least a fortnight before I reported it here IIRC, but it only became eligible for a place in the top 10 recently IIRC.soulsaver said:

Regardless though as you say the rate's 4.71% these days which is what matters.

T&Cs change Al Ryan Bank
Couple of changes coming into play, probably the most notable the minimum balance requirement. Before, you needed 5k to open the account but could keep it on a low balance and get the rate of interest currently applicable. This seems to come to an end now and the full rate only applies from 5k or above.

Received the same e-mail, which reminded me to check if my issue 3 (the only remaining AR account I had) still there. It's not. They've notified that to keep the account opened I need to make a transaction before 18th November, so I did and kept £1 in the account until 20th. That wasn't good enough so I don't have an account with AR anymore. Good to see that the app is still running so if they ever offer anything good it should be easy to apply.pecunianonolet said:T&Cs change Al Ryan Bank

My easy access Al Rayan account was also sitting at zero for some time and then vanished from sight without warning. They could re-instate the same sort code/acct number within 24 hours when I needed an easy access account to deal with the renewal of a fixed term account. All I needed to do for this was ring them. Their CS was easy and quick to get hold of, and very competent. Mind you, the name of the account is now "Holding Account (Deposits)". It sits there with a zero balance and no interest rate, which suits me fine, as for now I would only use it to move money from/to fixed term accounts.allegro120 said:Received the same e-mail, which reminded me to check if my issue 3 (the only remaining AR account I had) still there. I've got their easy access account and had £1 in it for a while and got every 2 months a penny of interest and now on £1.10 balance. Never was told I need some transactions or anything.friolento said:
