Coventry Building Society have announced their changes following the base rate cut
The no longer available triple access saver (online) is reducing from 4.95% AER to 4.75% AER on 3rd December 2024.
The no longer available triple access saver (online)(2) is reducing from 4.9% AER to 4.75% AER on 3rd December 2024.
The no longer available triple access saver (online)(3), triple access saver (online)(4) and triple access saver (online)(5) are reducing from 4.83% AER to 4.75% AER on 2nd December 2024.

A rather welcome move by Coventry to keep the reductions lower than the Bank of England base rate cut.
I'm presuming these will become the top paying easy access accounts (NLA) once all the rate reductions shuffle through.

I think there are some others NLA with higher rates, or same rate but unlimited withdrawals for those that have them, but since they're NLA, not much you can do about them :p

4.85% guaranteed until February is pretty good going, I'm glad I have most of my money in there.

  • It looks like Ford Money have relaunched their Flexible Saver account, but now it's 4.5% rather than 4.75%.  The previous Flexible Saver is still showing as 4.75% when I view it in my account though.  Unsure if that will reduce or not to match the new one, bit confusing really since they don't have different issue numbers as far as I can tell!

I've actually  got a question about the account.
If l open the flexible  saver can l then open their regular saver  and move  cash across from it?

You can move money between those accounts yes, whether in the app or on the desktop site.

They would need to give notice ahead of lowering the rate so I think you'll still be on 4.75%

I guess they could differentiate by account number range. Expect it will reduce for us sooner rather than later.

I've not heard anything from Tesco or Chetwood either. Currently filling the latter and the former will soon follow unless or until their reductions.
