I am looking for an EA account that pays interest yearly rather than monthly. The best option I've found is Ulster bank loyalty saver 5.2%. Are there better options?
Hi, I believe the Ulster account pays interest on 1 Jan and the anniversary. That's what I've put in my spreadsheet.

So might not quite be what you need if you want to push all of the interest into next tax year.

Handy for anyone who wants to split about half this year and half next though - working well for me!

May month's NLAs being deleted from ToTP rankings page in next few days. Links removed as out-of-date (ood). Rates not maintained going forward.

If you need this data for your records, you have a few days before I delete them. OOD links are still on the ToTP page for now.

Just going back to the discussion re Cynergy email notifications for the rate reductions, now that the effective date of 1 July has passed, I’ve logged in and checked and my issue 69 which I did get the email for is now correctly showing as 5.00% down from 5.10%. My issue 68 which I didn’t get an email notification for is still showing 5.15% ie no rate reduction.

My issue 66 (was 5.15%) is due to drop to 5% on 4th July.  I had the notification for this a few days after I had the one for issue 69 (which dropped on the 1st July).

No rate reduction . . . . yet! Check again on 4 July.

The 4th of July Cynergy issue 68 goes from 5.15% to 5% according to the email I received.

I think it only pays once a year but is calculated monthly (if you selected that option when you opened it) so if you withdraw before the year you will get the pro-rata amount.

I have an Ulster Bank Loyalty Saver but no current account. Did this used to be possible or have I slipped through the cracks? In which case, should I apply for a current account now to avoid any possible future issues?

When I applied for mine I had to call them and was advised I needed a current account (though I believed at the time that the CS rep was not correct, but would not concede).  I ended opening current account for speed, but later (following a complaint) I was advised that I was correct and that I would not have needed to open the current account (got compensation for it though).
