Hi,
I'm away from my desk for a about a week from 1st September.
Topman @Bridlington1 has kindly agreed to maintain the ToTP Easy Access **No Chat** thread in my absence
He'll be posting your reported eligible EA accounts for readers' info/consideration.
It would be helpful if relevant posts could name drop him instead of (or as well as) me for the period.
He is not able to post in the ToTP rankings page, so he has kindly volunteered a workaround - he'll replicate and then maintain it on the first page (5th post) of the New Top Easy Access Discussion Area
The original rankings page will be updated on my return.
I'll post this notice in the EA discussion & ToTP rankings page too, so it will be navigable in a couple of clicks.
Thanks for everyone's contributions and your assistance while I'm away.
And a special thanks to @Bridlington1 for squeezing this in at his already busy time 👍️

Cynergy Bank
"Opening accounts does tend to take a few days in my experience"
Do you mean your first ever account with Cynergy? If so, you may be correct, as I can't remember. But you do need to obviously need to pass their ID checks, set up a nominated account, get set up online, etc. so it may do.
But once you are up & running online, opening new accounts is almost instant in my experience, although the application confirmation screen suggests it could take a few hours to get an email progress report. My experience is the email is sent immediately and confirms the account has been opened. Maybe I'm just lucky? You may need to log out and log in again to see the new account added.
Deposits & withdrawals - Cynergy say it may take up to 2 hours for these, (with a long stop of next working day for withdrawals) but in my experience it is usually 5-15 minutes. Maybe I'm just unlucky if others are seeing this "virtually instant"? Having said that, I've never actually really monitored it. I expect it to take up to 2 hours but happen to notice it it's all complete usually within 5-15 minutes, only because that's how long it takes for me to stumble across it having occurred.

Cynergy Bank
Thanks, though for some reason I don't seem to be able to forward date withdrawals from their online easy access account - either in the Android app or via online banking.

neither can I, on the easy access saver. May be it is possible on some of their other accounts

Cynergy withdrawals are not instant, and it’s also unclear when they process them. I don’t know whether there are daily cut off times, and they do send withdrawals at weekends and bank holidays even though they say they don’t, and these show dated on the next working day. I have just tested this on Saturday, Sunday and today - all 3 withdrawals arrived in my linked current account within a couple of hours but they are all dated Sept 1 in Cynergy.
I like that Cynergy have an app but I normally need instant, 24x7 access to my easy access savings, so am only using Cynergy as a last resort. Tesco is my current favourite, even if it’s not the absolute top rate account.

If that's a Zopa Smart Saver Access pot, are you sure you're not actually getting the normal 2.95% on that ? IIRC, the 1.5% 12 month boost (currently 4.45%) was only available for a limited time in October 2025 (which is why it's coming to an end soon) and I don't remember reading about it being offered again since then, although I might be wrong.
Zopa pay interest on the same day (date) each month as you first opened the account and I can't see why it shouldn't be available immediately ? If you opened the account on the 31st of a particular month, then that might explain why it's not available until the following day for months that have 30 days although I must admit I've never been sure whether banks do this or whether they simply credit interest on the last day of the month (regardless of the actual date) when opened on 31st.

The issue for me is that it will be paid on the 1st Sep but dated 31st Aug. All my other accounts have the paid & dated date the same.
I currently have two pots open both at 4.45% and could open another one if needed.Let's Be Careful Out There0 -

Why is it an issue?
