It seems a bit hit and miss with Sandi. I ended up having to phone them up to get mine closed.
I vaguely recall discussions on here at the time mentioning closing the chat too soon caused a problem. Also it needed to have a NIL balance when requesting closure (which mine did)

Santander Edge Saver
I requested closure of my two a/cs on Monday via Sandi and have been monitoring since. Today, as the a/cs haven't disappeared yet, I've checked the chat history and Monday's conversation isn't showing.
The same closure procedure was followed on Monday with my wife's two a/cs and from the interest paid we could see that they got closed on Wednesday so after 2 working days.
I've just requested closure of mine again via Sandi and double checked the chat history to make sure the closure request is still showing.

I received an email straight away with instructions to wait for another. On the website application they advised it can take 72 hours to do all their checks. Not too impressive is it?
Thank you for applying for a savings account with us. We’ve got your application and our team will start working on it as soon as possible.
What happens next?
- You don't need to do anything: If we need any extra information, our account opening team will contact you.

Oh, I literally just received this same email after commenting above, and 3 days after applying. Was starting to wonder whether to go for Tesco as Plan B.

Thks. Nil balance no longer required as Sandi asked me to select an account for it to transfer any remaining funds into when closing the Edge Saver.

Spring | Accelerate Saver
Do we need to skim off the interest or do they pay interest on the 5k plus any interest that is earned and credited on top of that? I assume it is like the Santander Edge account that interest is credited but won't earn any more and therefore needs to be withdrawn and needs to find a home elsewhere.
I tried to find any info in their documentation and on website but couldn't really find a definitive answer.

Spring will pay interest on the interest. No need to remove anything above 5k on this account.

I am not sure this is what the Spring T&Cs say. It’s a little confusing, as they keep stressing the max balance of £5,000 but then also say your balance can go over this max. They say they will continue to pay interest but it’s not clear on what they calculate the interest.
If you go into their chatbot, it says any interest paid into your account will accrue interest at the same rate as your savings. They have turned off screenshots and copying [on iPhone], and I don’t have a second phone to hand atm, so can’t post it here. Will do later if I remember, or someone else might post a photo in the meantime.
