As others have said might be worth reporting to the police if the posts can be read as threatening. My son had some threatening posts made about him when he was 15 by an ex girlfriend's mother.

We reported them and because of his age the police did visit the poster and gave her the choice of accepting a caution or being charged under the telecommunications act (I think) and going to court.

Thank you everyone. My relief was short lived, the wife posted a string of abuse on a mutual group we are on, saying I'm a liar, that I only won by default cos her husband couldn't make it due to his job, (we both had to give available dates to the court in advance and holidays can of course be requested from employers especially with 3 months notice) she said this isn't the end of it and her husband is going back to the courts. I'm 70 this year I really don't need this but they won't give in.
Obviously I'll keep you posted.  Let the stress continue...x
I forgot to say the group admins are my camping friends and they removed her barrage of insults.....however I got screenshots of them all, 7 in total.
Post a link to this thread on the group. The group members will see who is in the wrong, and it’s not you.

The court has decided and I don’t think the other party can progress any further.

Please try to relax Mandy, they are probably just blowing off steam.

Don't let their words hurt you. Don't respond other than to get your friends to remove their posts.

They are very unlikely to try court again. If they do just do what you have already done but this time ask for costs or expenses etc.

You have plenty of virtual friends on here who will support you again if these idiots try to take you to court again.

    Take care.  :)

A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".
  • If you got screenshots of the abuse keep them in a safe place ,if ( and i mean if ) they are foolish enough to try their luck again you can show the magistrate the texts ,should be interesting them trying to deny hey posted them.
As others have said they are just blowing steam out of their you know where ,they had their chance in court and knew they could not win ,just a bunch of bad loosers ,move on and forget them.

I admire your resilience and so glad you got the result you deserved! Shame they can’t just be adults about it and leave it at that

As you stated above @Mandy1955, if they want to go to court, they will have to explain why they failed to turn up on 2 specific occasions. Keep any correspondence you got from the court for future use and I would report the harassment to the police only at least to get a record down.
In case they send / get solicitor to send letters, then you can threaten civil action against them and have paperwork to support you.
Remember a solicitor letter is meant to scare but only a court can take action. Think of a solicitor letter only as an expensive 'angry call'.
May you find your sister soon Helli.
    Sleep well.
