    Really pleased for you Mandy🍾
Obviously the other person was just a chancer so such a shame you had to go through so much that you could do without.

    Great news Mandy.

Well done and best wishes.  :)
A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".

Their bluff, well and truly called. Good work. Shame it took this long with the added worry though.

Great news, but !!!!!! like him should have some kind of repurcussion.  He obviously never had any intention of turning up as he informed the court but still wanted to mess you around by not informing you.

I used to work in the local courts, employed by CAB. There was a rule of thumb that a defendant could miss one hearing by reason of illness etc, but not two.

Never had a claimant fail to turn up but I guess it would apply to them too.
Seems right. Sorry it dragged out so much but pleased you got there in the end

Well done for standing up for yourself when you were always in the right.
Now put all this stress behind you and start enjoying your life again.

Did you get awarded any costs?
I didn't ask for anything as I live only 5 miles from the court.
Well done, but shame you didn't put in a counter claim for 2 days of your time time.  You could have walked away with a nice £500

    Possibly.
It would be one thing getting a court award.
    Another actually getting the money.
