Afternoon all, just popped back inside to cool down, gosh it's warm out there today.

Up early to walk dogs and then went and did a grocery shop out, managed to spend £80 between Mr s and Mr Al and again didn't seem to have a huge amount.
Ordered some flowers for a family members big birthday, they don't live locally so had to get them delivered £30 spent.
Garden pickings this morning have been radishes, red spring onions, handful of both raspberries and blueberries and a little gem lettuce, lunch today was a boiled egg and salad wrap and some raspberries and blueberries for pud so very frugal.
2nd load of washing is in the machine and hoping to get all the dogs blankets washed and dried.
Banking checked all ticking along, small sale on v1nted only £3 but adds up, couple of surveys done also but not alot about and not near payout on any.

and in not so mse news ...... holiday to mexico has been booked for January,DH has paid £1500 which means i need to pay £1479 by the end of October, i'm actually hoping to pay it off by the end of August, well that's what i have challenged myself so i need another £542 to add to the £937 that is in hols pot 1.

Should of been £3397 but we got just over £400 knocked off between a discount/offer that is on at the moment and also had a £100 tui voucher, we are only going for 7 nights. I did look at a $andals resort in Barbados for a special birthday in a couple of years time, that was heading towards the 10k mark which is an absolute no no.

Afternoon and gosh it is hot again, busy morning at work and came home with some tomatoes, cucumber, apples and oranges.
Currently have some lamb cooking in the slow cooker in a sticky honey, chipotle, garlic concoction, smells blumming good, thinking couscous, roasted veg and hm flatbreads to go with it. Going to make a fruit salad for pud using the apples and oranges i came home with and will add some blueberries and raspberries out of the garden so a free pud.
No money news everything is ticking along, no sales on ebay/v1nted seems to have slowed down and i'm thinking of sending the few bits i have on to the charity shop as they have been on a while and o've reduced the price but no takers.

MOrning all, hot, hot, hot out there already, going to get a few jobs done this morning and then some inside jobs if the house isn't too warm.
Need to pop into small town and go to the PO with a parcel, pick up a parcel from inpost locker for DH and  buy a wedding anniversary card.
Lamb was delish last night and quite a bit left over, I have used some in a couple of wraps for DH lunch along with some salad and roasted veg and put the rest about 4 meals worth in the freezer for another week. DH is off working for a friend today and is going to be outside all day, must remember to give him suncream and make sure he has his cap, i've also made up 2 bottles of iced water for him to take with him.
Easy and frugal tea tonight of sausage pasta, whopsied kansas smoked sausages, never tried before but thought we would give them a whirl as they were reduced, will make a tomato sauce using tomatoes i got yesterday for free and will add some paprika, garlic etc to pep it up, pasta is also a freebie I got from work a few weeks ago and will make a salad from salad leaves, radishes and red spring onions from the garden. Dessert will be fruit and yoghurt.

Afternoon, don't know whether i'm coming or going with this weather, garden has appreciated the downpour but i've now got a large washing pile that i need to get on with.

Meal out yesterday at a local pub to celebrate wedding anniversary, was lovely and didn't cost a fortune as they had an offer on which was 2 main meals and a bottle of wine for £40, i had a cajun chicken dish that came with fries and a rocket salad, DH had gammon and pineapple, there was about 10 main meals in the offer to choose from and the wine was nice, we were also stuffed and couldn't manage a dessert.

Grocery shop done this morning Mr L was just short of £70 and Mr S £47 and i managed to bag a £1.50 F&V box in Mr L and it is possible the best i have ever had, they had several which were all full, the one i picked contained a 600g tray of strawberries, 1 red and 1 yellow pepper,2 bags organic spinach, large avocado, pack 3 chillis,1 large leek, pack basil, 2 bag deluxe new potatoes, 4 white onions, 650g tray mushrooms, baking potato, cauliflower, 2 apples and a pack of deluxe green beans, I also picked up raspberries as my free fruit and a yum yum for a free sweet treat which was donated to DD.
I've already turned the mushrooms into soup which is cooling and will pop into the freezer for another day, i've gone back through the mealplan for the week and tweaked it so there is no wastage, strawberries were all lovely except for 2 that had gone very soft but i just popped those in the bag i have in the freezer which is earmarked for jam when i have 1kg,currently have about 800g mostly from the garden, rest of the strawberries will be eaten at breakfast or dessert with ice cream, I will use some new potatoes and green beans this evening as i have cooked a whole chicken. leeks will be used in a quiche tomorrow for lunch and spinach in a pasta dish, cauli i will make cauliflower cheese and freeze for a later meal, peppers look like they will be ok for a few days.

Finance all ticking along, money in today and shuffled some about, usual £100 OP to mortgage and £100 sent to joint savings account, also sent some to both holiday pots, HP1 stands at £1056 and HP2 is now £1676.

Garden continues to give, 2 patty pan squash, handful blueberries, rocket and radishes, first lot of potatoes that i'm growing in bags are about ready which is exciting as its always a mystery with potatoes as to what you are going to get, green beans are almost ready to pick as well.

Afternoon all, quick update to keep me accountable.

Made chicken stock this morning from last nights chicken carcass and some frozen veggie scraps, left it to do its thing in the slow cooker whilst at work.
Work was good and as I arrived a couple that was staying in one of the cottages was leaving and said i've left you some things as they are fridge items and they were going off walking for the day before heading home, so i brought home a few freebies all unused. Milk, yoghurts and some humous, plus a packet of cake mix and a box of instant porridge sachets. Porridge can go to work with DH and i've already made the chocolate cake mix into muffins and added a very ripe banana to the mix, they will get eaten by DD and her partner.
Garden keeps giving, handful of green beans and blueberries today and 2 eggs from the girls, pasta for tonights tea to use up some of the spinach i got yesterday.

Finances ticking along, £4 in from v1nted and gone to HP1, £5 amaz0n voucher redeemed from surveys.

All sounding good. That’s nice of the couple to leave you those bits. My DIL used to work at Centre Parcs and people used to leave loads of stuff behind that she was allowed to keep.

Morning and the sun is out so the washing is on.

Friday was another work morning, 3 hours done and then i nipped in to little town to the shoe repair shop to see if they could save my favourite birk sandals, which they managed and only cost me £6 and a 30 minute wait so i was a happy bunny. Went for a mooch around the charity shops whilst i waited but nothing caught my eye.
Friday evening we went to a friends housewarming/bbq took some beers we had in and put together a bouquet of sunflowers from the garden as i've gone OTT growing them this year, had a lovely evening.
Payment of £18 hit account from TCB, which was sent straight to HP1.
    HP1 £1078
    HP2 £1676
Yesterday was a pottering day as i was feeling a little delicate from the night before, not properly hungover but just that niggly headache and not slept properly feeling. Did a bit of batch cooking sausage rolls, leek and smoked bacon quiche and some flatbreads for with tea, tea was simply flat breads with roasted veg and some quick fry steak, I made a chilli, lime and coriander dressing for the steak which was lovely. pud was also easy but very delicious chucked some butter and sugar in a frying pan to make a caramel sauce and then added some chunks of very ripe banana which we had over vanilla ice cream.

Yesterdays garden giving was rocket, patty pan squash, red onions and strawberries, girls produced 3 eggs.
