Morning all, yesterdays charity shop hunt was a dead end, DD didn't find a single thing she liked that fit so today we are going to head to local retail park where their is a Next, Matalan and asda, so hopefully she will find something suitable. I also didn't get anything as nothing sparked joy.
Did spend £50 in a1di on what seemed like not alot but that seems to be the norm nowadays. £9 was also spent in the pet shop on rabbit ears, chicken feet and other unidentified body parts, happy pooches!

Did manage an hour in the garden yesterday and read a couple of chapters of a book i'm reading before the sky darkened and we had rain which has continued overnight so at least the garden doesn't need watering.
As it was DD turn to cook i caught up with surveys and redeemed £10 which will go to hols pot when it arrives.
Picked gooseberries yesterday and now need to decide whether to turn them into something or freeze for later in the year.

    Happy hump day PWPS

Morning all, off to work shortly so just having a brew and catchup.

Yesterdays visit to retail park was fruitful, DD managed to get some lovely bits from asda of all places and i was pleasantly surprised by their clothes, I bought myself a new swimming costume in the sale as it is a need as my current one feels as though the support isnt what it was, to be fair it is 7 years old and was also bought in a sale.
So £9 spent but i think i may go back and purchase some trousers as they had some lovely lightweight floaty ones which will be perfect for when i go to Italy in October.

Spent the afternoon weeding the garden still have more to do and will try and get on with it today, yesterday garden picks were a handful of strawberries and raspberries, just enough for DH and I to have with a blob of vanilla ice cream, rocket, lettuce, radishes and red spring onions.

Money shuffle done this morning as i've been paid, £52 sent to each holiday pot and a couple of bills have also been paid. Sold an item on v1nted £6 so need to get that parcelled up and sent, I will combine that trip with getting petrol as their is an evr1 drop off point at the petrol station.

    Hols pot 1 £931
    Hols pot 2 £1556

Tonights tea are some chicken kebabs I made a couple of weeks ago and froze, will make up some HM flatbread and salad from the garden, may also do a cold pasta salad as i noticed half a jar of pesto in the fridge from the weekend when DD made some pasta for lunch, so will get that used up.

DD and her partner are starting to look at houses, I may have an empty nest soon!

    Afternoon all,

Yesterday I spent the morning at work, dashed home early afternoon and had a quick lunch and then popped into small town to drop off a parcel at the PO, did a small food shop £44 and got fuel for the car £30. Also bobbed into the independent travel agent which is near the PO to price up a couple of holidays for January, toss up between Mexico, Dominican or St Lucia, all very similar in price but think we are edging towards Mexico. May even book it on Monday if we have defo made a decision.
Last night DH and I were supposed to be at a festival, after travelling for an hour and 10 mins away from the venue DD text me to ask if I knew it had been cancelled due to bad weather. So we about turned and headed home,  stopping at a good pub for something to eat and drink, so at least we still managed to get a date night. Although had to laugh and see the irony in the fact that the person we were going to see who's song is Ironic got cancelled because of bad weather in the middle of summer  :D.

Another couple of hours at work this morning, had lunch and caught up with some surveys. Spag bol for tea tonight as it is not BBQ weather, sorted out DH lidl app as apparently it wasn't working, told him he was a muppet (in a loving way) as it helps if you are signed in  :s,DH is passing lidl today on his way home from work so sent him with a small shopping list to pick up what i couldn't get yesterday should only be around £10 as long as he doesn't go off list and get distracted in the middle aisle, he also had a voucher for a free bar of fin carre chocolate so that will be his weekend treat.

Money news everything is ticking along which is how I like it, need to look at regular savers as my NWide one matures in a couple of weeks and i need to open a new one.

Shame about the festival!  Mexico sounds nice. I’ve lost all enthusiasm for travelling abroad since Covid. Not sure if that will ever return.

Morning all, Heads fuzzy as i didn't sleep well at all last night, wouldn't mind if something was actually worrying me but I think it's just my age, off work today so i can see a nanna nap creeping in this afternoon hopefully outside in the sunshine.

Yesterday was full on, work yesterday morning, quick lunch drove DD and partner to airport hour there and just over an hour back, took some flatbreads and lamb koftas out of freezer, took hounds to dog training then back home made tea of flatbreads salad and kofta, tidied kitchen, DH watered garden and finally flopped onto sofa. Somewhere in there I also managed to get a load of washing done, hung out and dried and a batch of granola was made before work.

This morning has been a bit more leisurely, pottered in the garden first thing, harvested 2 squash, radishes, red spring onions, strawberries and beetroot, girls had also laid 2 eggs. Made a batch of potato salad using some cooked homegrown potatoes that were left from sunday tea and spring onions from the garden and also some sausages rolls made for lunchtime today.

All the DD have gone out of account, New CC month and a couple of bits added already, some brackets to fix a post in the garden and some picture frames, small spends but might as well have the cashback. £6 v1nted payment landed in account so that has gone to hols pot 1, haven't had chance to book holiday it is on the to do list.
    Hols pot 1 £937
    Hols pot 2 £1556

Were you booked to see Alanis? I love her! I saw Texas the other week and they were amazing!
I don't seem to sleep too well lately either and I will have days of bad sleep then just crash to make up for it 🙈.

Yes it was Alanis, I was super excited especially after i watched her performing at glasto (on the tv not actually there, I wish!). I love Texas as well but weren't able to do the Sunday night when they were performing.

I've just come to accept lack of sleep, oh to go back to the days before having children and having a full nights sleep because i honestly think that was the last time I slept properly.
