Evening all.
Yesterday I was paid and i sent £82 straight to hols pot 2 as this gave me a nice even number in my bank account to start this months budget, DH was also paid including some overtime this was sent to the emergency pot to cover the fridge that we bought. He also paid the balance on the cottage we are staying in when we go to Scotland, which means nothing has been taken from holiday pots for that break.
Today was grocery shop day, DD decided to come along but has vowed never to enter Mr L with me again (i think she was joking.......I hope)So checked my app this morning for this weeks discount vouchers and would you believe it there was 3 vouchers for 3 free items, i'm wondering if its because I'm only going once a month.
So my 3 free items were a free bakery item,a free fruit item and a free veg Item. I had a look at the included items and decided on what would work out the best value/most expensive. When i got to Mr L i got a trolley and told DD to get a basket as we were on a mission, I got a 1kg tray of strawberries costing £4.49, Large family bag of potatoes £4.09 think these are 7.5kg (thanks sunaddict for the heads up on those) and a sourdough loaf £1.99, sent DD off with my phone to get those items, I then carried on with my normal shop, DD arrived back and I went and paid for the shopping which came to £108 so of course that triggered the free fruit, free sweet treat and free pasta sauce, so DD got sent off again with my phone whilst i packed the shopping to get raspberries £2.75, a jar of pasta sauce 69p and a sweet treat of her choice as she was getting fed up with me by this point, I think she got a donut which she devoured in the car which i think are 49p. Over £14 in freebies from one shop which has made my day and i'm very grateful for.
So todays spends Mr L £108 but £16 of that was on dog treats/food. B&M £9 grocery item and £6 personnel spend. I've kept back £4 of grocery money in case i need anything later in the week and have sent an underspend of £20 to hols pot no2.
Tea tonight has been bacon, scrambled egg and tomatoes on sourdough toast with strawbs for pud.

Morning, 10 days of not posting as life has got in the way leaving me feeling emotionally drained, had to have my old dog PTS, old problems between myself and DH rearing their head (mainly caused by in-laws) and generally feeling withdrawn and closed off. I know what i need to do but stuggling to motivate myself.
Ok so I have managed a few extra shifts at work which was good as it got me out of the house and focused my thoughts elsewhere. Spent some time in the garden but the weather hasn't always been on my side. Walked doggo and DD doggo, missing old doggo but she got to the point where a long walk was too much and some days she didn't want to go at all.
I woke early this morning, just before 5 and decided i needed to sort myself out. I need to focus on everything that is positive, everything i enjoy and try and push away the negative and things i can't control also people that don't want the best for me. I'm too old for this sh**.2 -

So i'm a bit all over the place moneywise and had a couple of blips but nothing that can't be fixed.
Not budgeted -
Vets bill £150 taken from emergency fund, just as we had topped it back up from fridge fiasco. But it's what it is there for.
Clarins splurge £107 put on CC, will be paid off from extra work shifts. No excuses just wanted to cheer myself up.
Budgeted spends-
Fuel for car £25
Dog training £20
Groceries £93 + free dishwasher tablets from MrL
£100 OP to mortgage and sold a couple of bits on v1nted so £10 has gone to holiday pot.
Goal for this month is to get Hols pot1 to £800, it currently has £640 in it and Hols Pot2 to £1500 and this currently has £1243.
So far this morning I've gone through the budget, checked bank accounts and got myself feeling back in control, Been out in the garden and sorted the chickens, collected eggs and picked strawberries from the garden to go with this morning pancakes. I've unloaded dishwasher and reloaded, straightened the kitchen up, made pancake mixture and a batch of sausage rolls for lunchtime, DD is making a roast for tea as it is father's day so apart from breakfast no more cooking for me today. Need to get showered and walk the dogs and then hoping to spend some time in the garden. Not sure if DH is going to see his Dad or not, my Dad died 17 years ago so i find today tough and DH Dad is not fatherly IYKWIM so i don't feel the urge to push DH to go and see him, I truly believe how you have been with your children as they were growing up reflects back on you when those children become adults. DH is an amazing dad and wants to spend the day with our DD/DS and not have any negative comments thrown our way or us being made to feel not good enough.

So sorry for your lost doggo. Take the time heal a bit.
I'll be 78 in less than two months - I'm still having people problems. I don't think it gets any easier as you get older either.2 -

Thank you for the kind messages regarding old doggo
DH had a lovely Father's day and was spoilt by both DD/DS.
Money in this morning, so some of that has been pinged into various pots, £100 OP to mortgage, £100 into joint savings and sent £100 to each holiday pot bringing those to Hols pot 1 £740 and Hols pot 2 £1343.
Better get ready for work xx

Sorry to hear about Doggo, they are always a huge loss.
Hope things perk up for you soon. Do you have specific holidays planned for the pots?"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee1 -

Hols pot 1 is for some winter sun in January, not sure if it will be caribbean or Mexico, will depend on how much we have saved and Pot 2 is for next summer as it will be our 25th Wedding anniversary, not sure exactly what we are doing yet as we have a few places (the whole world) we want to visit, but Africa has been mentioned along with doing another cruise, so who knows!1
